4th ANNUAL BLOCKTOBERFEST at Thalia Hall and Dusek's Board & Beer

On September 30th from 12-10 PM, Thalia Hall and Dusek’s Board & Beer are bringing their free, family-friendly community block party back to Pilsen with the 4th Annual Blocktoberfest. Located on 18th street outside of Thalia Hall in Pilsen, the FREE-to-enter fall soiree will feature a variety of craft beers for purchase, curated by beer-centric restaurant Dusek’s Board & Beer, such as Virtue Rose, Surly Oktoberfest, Founders Trigo and more, as well as specialty punch cocktails from Punch House. Dusek’s Chef Michael Galen will whip up German-inspired delicacies including Dusek’s infamous soft pretzels with house-made beer mustard ($4), garlic sausage served with chips, sauerkraut and beer mustard ($5) and local apple streusel ($5). This year’s event will include and all-new fun zone for kids set up in Tack Room, while a stellar line-up of DJs like Jesse De La Pena, Darryn Jones and Yessenia G. providing an upbeat soundtrack of tunes at the all-day fest. Bring the whole fam to Pilsen for the day, Blocktoberfest is the perfect opportunity to welcome fall while and enjoy the neighborhood’s eclectic vibes.

SPIN PING PONG AND THE PROMONTORY — WE’RE OUT BACK AT SAINT LOU’S ASSEMBLY

Calling all summertime backyard bash fanatics for the annual We’re Out Back series. Each Sunday throughout September, Hyde Park hotspot, The Promontory, takes up residence on Lake Street to serve up curated dishes inspired by the restaurant’s hearth-driven cuisine on Saint Lou’s Assembly’s backyard patio. The Sunday fun day festivities kick off at 2 PM with drink specials including $12 cans of House Wine sparkling rosé and $5 cans of Goose Island beers followed by good eating at 3 PM. The Promontory’s residency will culminate on September 30th with a pig roast on the patio. During the weekend of September 7th - 9th, the ping pong pros at SPiN will join in the festivities for SPiN Out Back, as they set up ping pong tables on the patio. Gather your best pals and engage in a friendly game of table tennis all weekend long. The festivities kick off on Friday afternoon with Saint Lou’s manager Dan ceremoniously sabering a bottle of bubbles with a ping pong paddle at 4pm.

FIRST FRIDAY SERIES: SCOFFLAW POP-UP AT REVIVAL FOOD HALL

Another month, another great bar popping up at Revival Food Hall as Scofflaw takes over on September 7 from 5 PM - 9 PM. The gin joint will move its operations from Logan Square down to the Loop for one night only, mixing up drink selections from its menu of creative libations as D.J. Gengiswon spins vinyl. Visitors have the option to complement their cocktails with a variety of delicious food offerings from Revival Food Hall vendors such as Lito’s Empanadas, The Budlong and Furious Spoon which will all have extended hours until 8 PM. 

MONEYGUN CHARITY CLUB

West Loop's MONEYGUN is mixing up drinks for even greater causes with its ongoing monthly philanthropic initiative, MONEYGUN Charity Club (#MGCC). Each month a dedicated “Monthlygun” cocktail will be selected, and $1 from each drinksold will bedonated to charities that positively impact the Chicago community and beyond. Inobservance of Suicide Prevention Month in September, MONEYGUN Charity Club proceeds will benefit Hope for the Day, an organization that works to promote proactive suicide prevention through outreach and mental health education. All month long, patrons can also receive a stylish MONEYGUN Charity Club t-shirt with an additional donation of $25. MONEYGUN Charity Club will continue its fundraising efforts during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a new Monthlygun cocktail supporting the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation.
