A closer look: Where to Celebrate 4th of July 2026

Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook

Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook invites guests and the local community to celebrate America 250 with a Fourth of July Fireworks Viewing Party on Friday, July 3 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The event will feature family-friendly entertainment, outdoor experiences, curated food and beverage offerings, and multiple viewing packages.

The Family Picnic on the Grassy Knoll offers a classic picnic-style experience for up to four guests featuring a reserved blanket setup and curated picnic basket including muffaletta sandwiches, caper and dill macaroni salad, coleslaw, fruit salad, chips, apple pie, and bottled water, with optional wine add-ons available. Families also have the option to swap select sandwiches for kid-friendly uncrustables or request vegan options. The experience is available for $125 for up to four guests, with additional guests available for $25 per person.

For couples seeking a more intimate evening, the Date Night Under the Fireworks package offers reserved seating on the bridge with premium views of the surrounding fireworks displays, including a bottle of wine and curated charcuterie and cheese board for two. The romantic experience is available for $75 per couple.

Guests looking for an elevated celebration can reserve the VIP Fire Pit Experience, designed for groups of up to 10 guests. The premium package includes private fire pit seating, a personal bartender serving beer, wine, and a specialty cocktail, s’mores kits, premium fireworks viewing, and a full food spread featuring muffaletta sandwiches, coleslaw, potato salad, caper and dill macaroni salad, chips, fruit salad, and apple pie. The VIP Fire Pit Experience is available for $1,200.

A complimentary general viewing area will also be available behind the bridge on a limited first-come, first-served basis for guests looking to enjoy the fireworks in a more casual setting.

Guests can get the party started with half-price happy hour specials from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. before settling in for a night of dancing and drinks. Starting at 10 p.m., DJ Boathouse takes over the turntables, spinning a mix of crowd favorites and dance-floor hits to keep the holiday festivities going until 2 a.m. 

Central Park Bar

Chicagoans are invited to celebrate Independence Day at Central Park Bar's Fourth of July Patio Bash beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. In partnership with Maplewood Brewery & Distillery and Fiestoso Mezcal, the all-day celebration will feature festive water games, including water guns, eco-friendly water balloons, and even blow-up pools for dogs. Guests can enjoy drink specials throughout the day including Maplewood drafts and Maplewood Pro Hawaiian Dream 5mg THC beverages. Maplewood will also be on-site handing out complimentary swag while supplies last.

Cody's Public House

Chicagoans are invited to celebrate the Fourth of July and America’s 250th Birthday at Cody’s Public House in West Lakeview with an all-day party featuring festive drink specials, Cubs game-day deals and giveaways. The celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. with $2.50 Mimosas until 2 p.m. and Fourth of July drink specials available all day including $5 Sam Adams drafts, $6 Freedom Bombs, $6 Mamitas seltzers and $8 Garrison Brothers Red, White & Blue Bourbon. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., guests can enjoy a Mamitas sampling along with a raffle for tickets to Windy City Smokeout.

Fans heading to Wrigley Field for the evening Cubs vs. Cardinals matchup can stop by Cody’s for a pregame party before first pitch at 7 p.m. The game will also be broadcast throughout the venue on 16 65-inch TVs, including six outdoor screens. Cubs game-day specials include $5 Old Style tall boys, $7 Malört shots and $7 Cubby Bombs. 

Easy Bar

Chicagoans looking for a low-key way to celebrate Independence Day can head to Easy Bar in Wicker Park, where the neighborhood bar will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 4 for an evening. Guests can take advantage of half-price happy hour specials from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., along with $2.50 Mystery Shots and $9 beer-and-shot combos available throughout the night. Patrons can also enjoy Easy Bar's cozy, dog-friendly sidewalk patio, which seats 15 to 20 guests.

Estelle's

Chicagoans can keep the Fourth of July festivities going at Estelle’s on Saturday, July 4 with late-night vibes and summer sips. DJ Papa G takes over the decks from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., delivering an upbeat soundtrack to keep the party going into the early morning hours. Guests can sip on seasonal cocktails crafted for summer, including the Rey Mysterio, made with Rey Supremo Reposado, Planteray 3 Star Rum, lime, grapefruit, and guava juice, or the tropical-inspired Weekend at Bernie’s, featuring Buchanan’s Pineapple Scotch, Giffard Coconut, and fresh lime juice.

Frank & Mary's Tavern

Frank & Mary’s Tavern is celebrating the Fourth of July with all-day patriotic specials on Saturday, July 4, including $2.50 domestic drafts, $2.50 American Lemonades, $17.76 domestic beer buckets and $17.76 Fireball & Garrison Brothers Shotskis. Guests can also enjoy free Chicago dogs and burgers starting at 2 p.m., free apple pie all day while supplies last, and an all-day bags tournament.

Remedy

Chicagoans can keep the celebration going all night long at Remedy’s Independence Day Party. Open from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., festive specials will include a complimentary hot dog (while supplies last) with the purchase of a $2.50 Malort shot. Guests can also sip on a lineup of summer drinks, including the Alaska Question crafted with Sweet Gwendoline Gin, Leopold Bros Lime Cordial, Yellow Chartreuse and finished with a sparkling glitter topper or the Pontiac Bandit, a blend of Rey Supremo Rosa Tequila, Pamplemousse Liqueur, pineapple, and prickly pear syrup.

Sweet Mandy B's

From July 1 through July 4, both the Lincoln Park and Streeterville bakeries will be stocked with red, white and blue favorites for holiday parties, backyard barbecues and family gatherings. The seasonal lineup features classics including Confetti Cookies, Sweetie Pie Cookies, Iced Sugar Cookies, Confetti Rice Krispies, festive Yellow and Chocolate Cupcakes topped with vanilla frosting, and Sweet Mandy B’s signature Chocolate Iced Brownies (available at the Lincoln Park location only). For a dessert table centerpiece, guests can order the bakery’s 6-inch, three-layer Red, White and Blue Watercolor Vanilla Cake, which serves 8–12 people.

The Getaway

Guests can celebrate Independence Day at The Getaway in Lincoln Square, opening at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. Patrons can enjoy $9 Beer & Shot Combos all evening, along with summer cocktails served al fresco on the patio. Highlights from The Getaway’s new summer cocktail menu include Patio Vibes, crafted with Nosotros Blanco Tequila, Thatcher’s Prickly Pear Liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and soda water, and the Pollination Station, featuring Sweet Gwendoline Gin, Koval Chrysanthemum Honey Liqueur, lemon juice, and ginger beer. Beginning at 10:30 p.m., the celebration continues with a live DJ set and dance party until 3 a.m.

The Graystone Tavern

This Fourth of July weekend, Chicagoans and Cubs fans alike are invited to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary at The Graystone Tavern. Graystone will serve holiday-themed food and drink specials all weekend long. On Saturday, July 4, guests can enjoy an Independence Day Happy Hour from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. featuring $2.50 Corn Dogs, $2.50 Domestic Drafts, $2.50 Apple Pie Shots, $4 American Lemonades, $13 Eagle Rare Mules, and $17.76 Domestic buckets. Guests can also test their skills in a Corn Hole Throw Contest for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate. Before the first pitch, Cubs fans can fuel up with game-day favorites including $5 Old Style Tall Boys. For fans that don’t have a ticket to the game, they can catch every inning on nine TVs inside or head out to the weatherproofed patio complete with string lights, six additional TVs, and classic bar games like bags, giant Jenga, and giant Connect 4.

The Grillroom Chophouse & Wine Bar

Chicagoans can get a head start on Independence Day celebrations with The Grillroom Chophouse & Wine Bar's Pre-Fourth of July Wine Special, available Monday, June 29 through Friday, July 3. Guests can enjoy half-price bottles of all wines available by the glass, including favorites such as Belle Glos "Balade" Pinot Noir, Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay, The Prisoner Unshackled Cabernet Sauvignon, and more.

The festivities continue with The Grillroom's happy hour, offered Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Specials include $10 select wines and House Margaritas, $12 barrel-aged Old Fashioneds, and a selection of shareable bites such as East Coast Oysters, Meatballs, Tuscan Toast, and Filet Skewers. Patrons can sip and savor on The Grillroom's patio along Monroe Street.

The Owl

Guests looking to celebrate Independence Day with drinks, music, and dancing can head to The Owl in Logan Square, which will open at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. The Owl will feature drink specials throughout the evening, including $2.50 Jameson Orange shots. Beginning at 10:30 p.m., DJs Esteban La Groue and Danny Dan will take over the decks.

Tune-Up

Chicagoans looking to celebrate Independence Day outdoors can head to Tune-Up in Avondale, home to one of the neighborhood's newest patio destinations. Beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, guests are invited to enjoy holiday drink specials and summer vibes on the bar's expansive 1,200-square-foot outdoor patio. All-day specials will include $2.50 Garage Beer, $10 beer-and-shot combos, and the signature $9 Tune-Up Combo featuring a Garage Beer and Ferrari Shot. Designed for easy outdoor entertaining, the patio features an outdoor service counter and dedicated pickup window, allowing guests to grab a drink and get back to enjoying the festivities without missing a beat.
