BLVD Steakhouse (West Loop)

This Memorial Day Weekend order a picnic for two from the West Loop restaurant, BLVD Steakhouse. The package is $35 and includes: two BBQ Short Rib Sandwiches on Brioche Buns; Watermelon, Feta & Mint Salad; Macaroni Salad; chips and cookies. Available for pick-up on May 28, 29 or 30. El Che Meat & Provisions (West Loop)

El Che Steakhouse & Bar’s retail marketplace is offering Memorial Day Weekend options with take-home grilling kits. The marketplace has three kits available for order featuring: the Memorial Day Burger Kit including burgers for four with all the fixings, a two-pack of morcillas, a two-pack of chorizos and a six-pack of Quilmes ($45); the Memorial Day Ribs Kit including two slabs of baby back ribs or one slab, plus a four-pack of morcillas and a four-pack of chorizos, house made BBQ sauce and smoked salt and a tote bag ($65), or The Weekender Kit including four short ribs, a four-pack of chorizo, a four-pack of Babygold Beer—part of his partnership at Berwyn establishment Fitzgeralds—or Mexican Coke ($54).

Nonnina (River North)

Nonnina is offering a “RiverWalk Package,” featuring a large salad, two 12-inch subs, and a bottle of wine for just $35.00. Diners can pre-order or pick up a RiverWalk package and walk just steps away to Chicago’s River Walk. 

Recess (Fulton Market)

In addition to Frose, Recess, is debuting the “Aperol Freeze” this summer, a frozen Aperol spritz with similarities to the classic cocktail. The mix includes Aperol, watermelon vodka and sparkling wine — giving it the effervescence of sparkling wine even when frozen. This summer, the Recess patio is becoming bigger: with more second-floor seating offering views and more street art along the shipping containers. 

The Smith (River North)

The Smith is offering an adult slushie with their take on a frozen French 75 this summer. The drink made with gin, prosecco and lemon takes on a twist at The Smith. The French 75 Slushie will be available on The Smith’s River North patio on Clark Street. 

PB&J (West Loop)

The West Loop restaurant is serving up specials this Memorial Day Weekend. Home of the “1,000 Pound Ice Bar” this past winter, the team at PB&J will be revamping the patio to feature an outdoor pop-up bar. The outdoor bar will serve specialty cocktails including a “Red, White, and Booze” featuring a “Bomb Pop” popsicle garnish. 

urbanbelly (Wicker Park)

Chef Bill Kim’s fast-casual is bringing back happy hour, for Memorial Day. Available on Monday from 3-6pm, receive a discount on a number of menu items with your purchase of a Beer, Canned Cocktail or boozy Cutwater Spirit Pop. 

Andros Taverna (Logan Square)

New Logan Square arrival, Andros Taverna, has opened an outdoor patio with 80 seats along both the west side of the restaurant and its Milwaukee Avenue sidewalk. Located adjacent to the city’s forthcoming public park and green space expansion, the garden patio will soon have an overhanging glass canopy with hanging greenery, steps away from the just-opened Logan Square Farmer’s Market. Weekend brunch at Andros reflects a modern-day expression of cuisine in Greece, combining Chef Doug Psaltis’s culinary foundation with his family’s Greek recipes along with a full bakery program from Pastry Chef Hsing Chen. To complete the experience, Andros Taverna offers Freddos, frothy chilled espresso drinks. 

Grapes and Grains (West Loop)

GG's is located in the West Loop. Exposed brick, vintage chandeliers, chesterfield couches, and lighting pay homage to Old Chicago. GG’s features a variety of small plates, and a wine and cocktail list. GG’s outdoor experience features a patio on the corner of Lake and Peoria street. Seating will be first come, first served.

The Loyalist (West Loop)

The Loyalist debuted its very first patio on Ada Street last summer. Guests can order their cheeseburger and French fare while soaking up the sun on the patio. The patio is open starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. 

Robert Et Fils (North Center)

Robert Et Fils is transporting Chicagoans straight to the streets of France. This Memorial Day Weekend, the team is welcoming diners to order Parisian drinking foods and libations on its patio. Guests can expect a lighter “Parisian drinking fare” suited for a glass of wine or refreshing summer cocktail. Guests can order charcuterie boards, cheese plates, mussels, and more. Pastry Chef Cati Molnar will serve homemade bread that will complement the main menu. 

Sepia (West Loop)

Chef Andrew Zimmerman’s Michelin-starred restaurant has been in the West Loop since 2007, but just opened its first patio last summer. The sidewalk patio offers Sepia’s tasting menu Tuesdays through Saturdays: four courses for $75. Sepia is one of six original Michelin-starred restaurants since the Chicago guide was announced in 2011. 

Proxi (West Loop)

This border-blurring destination from Chef Andrew Zimmerman and proprietor Emmanuel Nony opened its first patio last summer. The new menu features their tempura elotes, as well as newer items like the smoked, double-cut Berkshire pork chop with roasted knob onions and sauce vindaloo, the Thai street food dish Khanom Krok, and a coconut panna cotta, made with pandan gelee, tropical fruit, coconut crumble and topped with a Thai dok jok cookie.

Boleo (Loop)

The rooftop restaurant and lounge is perched above the city on the 15th floor of the Kimpton Gray Hotel. The design evokes the vibrant energy of South America and includes a retractable glass roof. Latin-influenced cocktails include Esta Vez, Batida and I’ll Be Better in the Morning and pair well with dishes, such as Empanada Pollo, Bisteca De Res and Yaquitas.  

Nobu Rooftoop (West Loop)

Offering panoramic views of the city’s skyline from 11 stories above the West Loop, the Rooftop at Nobu opened last July. The design reflects a Japanese aesthetic. The menu consists of dishes, such as Yellowtail Jalapeno, Wagyu Mini Tacos and Black Cod with Miso and cocktails, like the Lychee Martini, Sunrise Shandy and Blanc All Day.

Cabana Club at The Robey Hotel offers bites, summertime-inspired cocktails and 180-degree views of the Chicago skyline daily from 11am. Cabana Club will be open to hotel guests and the general public on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations) with 90-minute time limit. There is also a $15 per person food and beverage minimum.

Miki’s Park (River North)

Hit up the cozy River North hotspot between 11:00am – 3:00pm for Korean-inspired brunch items like K-F-C (Korean Fried Chicken) Chicken & Waffles served with Gochujang Maple Syrup and the Mik Muffin, two Korean-spiced Beef Patties + Fried Egg + Cheese sandwiched between a toasted English Muffin.  

The sidewalk patio will be open weather permitting.

Azul Mariscos (Goose Island)

The Latin-inspired restaurant & bar will open at noon on Memorial Day and continue service through 10:00pm that evening. Be sure to check out Executive Chef Michael Hernandez’ new seasonal menu items like Grilled Mahi Mahi with Pineapple Habanero Salsa & Avocado and Lobster, Crab & Shrimp Tortas with Chihuahua Cheese, Refried Beans, Guacamole, Lettuce Tomato and Chipotle Aioli on a Grilled Ciabatta Bun. 

The Dawson (River West)

The Dawson will be hosting Memorial Day brunch from 11:00am – 7:00pm. Start things off with Chicken Fried Lobster served with Spicy Ranch, Lemon and Banana Peppers for the table before moving onto options like Smoked Salmon Toast, Scrambled Eggs and the Dawson Burger. Beverage Director Torrence O’Haire recently added a slew of new seasonal cocktails to the drink menu; be sure to try the Serendipity made with Chicago Spirit Gin, Campari, Lejay Cassis, Lavender & Prosecco or the Oaxacan (On) Sunshine made with Peloton de la Muerte Mezcal, Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon, Cardamom, Oregano & Lime. 

Takito Kitchen (Wicker Park)

Takito Kitchen’s Memorial Day Brunch is offering $15 Bottomless Mimosas or one of 10 different types of Margaritas. Brunch dishes like Chorizo Omelets, Chilaquiles and Breakfast Tacos with Scrambled Eggs, Queso Fresco, Seasonal Veggies & Coffee-braised Beef will be served from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

Bar Takito (West Loop)

Miller’s Ale House is offering 50% off entrées to active military members and veterans on Memorial Day. Bartoli's Pizzeria (Roscoe Village and West Town)

In honor of Memorial Day, Bartoli’s Pizzeria in Roscoe Village and West Town will donate a portion of proceeds from sales over Memorial Day weekend to Homes For Our Troops. Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.

Bartoli’s offers deep dish and thin crust tavern-style pizza, a selection of salads and appetizers like Wings Vesuvio, Badger-style Fried Cheeseballs and more along with sandwiches like Italian Beef, a Pizza Burger and Nonna Bartoli’s Meatball Sub. Bartoli’s is open for dine-in as well as delivery and takeout.

The Graystone Tavern (Wrigleyville)

The Graystone Tavern in Wrigleyville will host a Memorial Day Backyard BBQ on Sunday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring favorites from the grill like burgers, hot dogs and more. In honor of the holiday, a portion of proceeds from food sales will be donated to The Wounded Warrior Project. The barbecue will be held in their outdoor beer garden with space for 50 guests among 12 tables. Cubs fans can also catch all the Cubs vs Reds game action beginning at 1:20 p.m. on 9 TVs throughout the bar.

The Rambler Kitchen & Tap (North Center)

The Rambler invites guests to kick off the long weekend with FREE trivia at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 27 hosted by Whaddayaknow. Specials will include $20 Truly or White Claw buckets.

The Rambler will also host brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring $20 bottomless mimosas and $35 mimosa buckets paired with a la carte brunch items like the scratch-made Country Biscuit served with country fried steak, smothered in sausage gravy and topped with an egg  ($13), The Elvis French Toast with two slices of pound cake French toast stuffed with creamy Nutella and bananas, and topped with fresh whipped cream ($13), The Rambler Scrambler featuring three eggs mixed with red and green peppers, mushrooms, onions, ham, bacon, sausage, cheddar and a mountain of seasoned breakfast potatoes ($12)

Rewired Pizza Cafe & Bar (Edgewater)

Rewired Pizza Cafe & Bar, the new day-to-night coffee bar and restaurant in Edgewater, offers a 40 seat dog-friendly patio for guests. The patio features heaters and a fire pit lit nightly. Seating is first come, first served. Full food and drink menus will be available. 

Rewired will feature happy hour specials Thursday, May 27, Friday, May 28 and Monday, May 31 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. including half-priced pizza, appetizers and draft beer. On Thursday, May 27, guests will enjoy live music from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Guests can also order Saturday and Sunday brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The a la carte menu features items like the Rewired BELT Sandwich with bacon, scrambled eggs, Swiss cheese, garlic basil mayo, tomato and mixed greens served on brioche with brunch potatoes ($9), house made Biscuits and Chorizo Gravy ($10), and Chicken and Waffles with house made waffles, fried chicken thigh and maple syrup ($12). Guests can sip brunch cocktails including Mimosas, Kir Royale, Bellinis, Micheladas, Bloody Marys and more. 

Scratchboard Kitchen (Arlington Heights)

Scratchboard Kitchen in Arlington Heights will be open for patio or dine-in reservations this Memorial Day weekend from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Menu highlights from Executive Chef Grace Goudie include a Pastry Board with seasonal pop tarts, scones, and muffins, Beetroot Waffle with pistachio, cherry jam and lemon whip, Dutch Baby & Gravy with a Dutch baby pancake, sausage gravy and egg, Citrus Toast with mascarpone, citrus, fennel pollen and pistachio, and more. 

A participant of “Arlington Alfresco”, the program transforms downtown Arlington Heights into a European-style outdoor dining experience. The street in front of Scratchboard Kitchen is closed to vehicular traffic and used as a patio space. The patio at Scratchboard Kitchen features alfresco seating for up to 50 guests with full food and drink menus available.

Uvae Kitchen & Wine Bar (Andersonville)

 Uvae Kitchen and Wine Bar in Andersonville is hosting an in-person wine tasting on their flower-lined sidewalk patio on Saturday, May 29 at 3 p.m. The $30 per person tasting will be socially distanced with 6-foot spacing between tables on the patio. 

The event features 4 four-ounce pours and will be led by Uvae Sommeliers and guest wine makers. Small bite add-ons include a Cheese Plate ($15), Cheese & Charcuterie Plate ($20) and Duck Pâté ($12). 

Whirlyball (Chicago, Naperville and Vernon Hills)

Patrons who visit WhirlyBall over Memorial Day weekend and buy an hour of any activity will get a half hour activity of their choice FREE. Customers can choose from activities like Bowling (Chicago & Naperville only), HyperBowling (Naperville only), LaserTag, WhirlyBall, Ping Pong, Giant Connect Four, and Giant Jenga. The special is available via private party booking only and reservations are required. In between activities, families can dine from The Pivot Room’s chef-driven menu featuring fresh takes on classic American fare, a rotating craft beer selection and cocktails.

Oaken Bistro (Lake Forest)

The new North Shore spot, Oaken Bistro (200 N. Field Dr.) has put together a pairing for the long weekend crafted by Executive Chef Kristen Burman. Diners may order the Indy 500 Pork Tenderloin, served with picnic pickles, dill aioili on a fresh potato bun alongside house fries. Diners will receive a Half Wit Belgian Wheat Ale with the special for just $21. 

KINTON RAMEN (West Loop and Wicker Park)

KINTON RAMEN, will be offering a long weekend promotion at both their West Loop and Wicker Park locations. From May 29-May 31, diners may order a free side with purchase of a regular-priced ramen dish. Of the restaurant's sides, diners can choose from Takoyaki, Pork or vegetable Gyoza or an order of Edamame. The special will be available for dine-in, takeout or online ordering.
