Khepri Kitchen is adding a series of fall events at its Albany Park and Mount Prospect locations, including neighborhood foraging tours and dinners, sound meditation sessions and Friday night live music. Khepri’s original Albany Park café is located near the Kedzie Brown Line and focuses on coffee and grab-and-go food, while its Mount Prospect location, which opened in 2024, offers an expanded menu with seasonal small plates, cocktails, wine and beer. Both locations also sell work and products from local artists, makers and small businesses.
The Eat the Neighborhood series pairs a guided foraging walk with a multi-course dinner incorporating ingredients encountered during the tour. Professional forager Dave Odd will lead participants through the neighborhood while identifying more than 50 species of edible plants and potentially mushrooms. Khepri Kitchen will then prepare a meal featuring foraged ingredients. Events are scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 26 and Oct. 17 in Mount Prospect and Sept. 27 in Albany Park. Tickets are $85 per person or $160 per pair.
Khepri’s Mount Prospect location will also host Sound Frequencies Sound Baths at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 14. The meditation sessions use crystal singing bowls, gongs and chimes, with participants able to sit or lie down during the class. Tickets are $30.
Live Music & Spirits will continue on select Fridays at 7 p.m. in Mount Prospect, combining performances with food and tastings from local beverage producers. John Allegretto will perform Oct. 2 alongside complimentary tastings from Riverlands Brewing Co., followed by Mark Steinbreaker on Oct. 16, Brad Harris on Oct. 23 and Mackenzie Knight on Nov. 6. Tickets, event details and schedule updates are available through Khepri Kitchen’s events page.
