Background file: Chef Jonathon Sawyer’s Americana-Inspired Supper Lands at Kindling July 24
Chef Jonathon Sawyer is taking guests on a culinary road trip across America with the latest installment of Suppers with Sawyer at Kindling on Friday, July 24th!
Centered around Kindling’s signature live-fire kitchen, the evening invites guests into a chef-guided dining experience where storytelling, history, and wood-fired cooking come together around some of the country’s most iconic dishes. Guests will kick off the night with a welcome cocktail at 6:00 PM before sitting down for supper at 6:30 PM.
This Americana-inspired dinner celebrates regional classics from coast to coast, beginning with George Crum’s 1853 Saratoga Springs-style Potato Chips and a 1972-inspired Jalapeño Poppers course from Texas. Guests will then enjoy a recreation of New England Clam Chowder dating back to 1751, followed by Harry Perry’s 1971 Milford, Maine-style Lobster Roll.
For the main course, Chef Sawyer explores the roots of Tejano-style Fajitas, a dish that helped shape American grilling culture, before ending the evening with a tribute to Brennan’s Bananas Foster, first introduced in New Orleans in 1951.
Priced at $90 per person with optional beverage pairings available. Tickets will be available on OpenTable on June 22nd.
