If you’re tired of the old date night dinner and a movie or group hang at your regular haunts, give Kings Dining & Entertainment a try! With locations in Lincoln Park and Rosemont, city dwellers and suburbanites can enjoy a night out of bowling, games and elevated cuisine. We recently brought some pals to the Lincoln Park location to start the weekend off with some fun, friendly competition paired with craft cocktails and lane-friendly bites.
The Kings shareables menu takes a global approach while simultaneously offering familiarity in ingredients and flavors. For example, the Buffalo Chicken Wontons, an east-meets-west riff on the classic American bar food that gets the fried dumpling treatment. Speaking of dumplings, Kings’ pan-fried Crispy Pork Dumplings (served with a ginger soy dipping sauce) are a must; as are the overall favorite during our visit - Thai Curry Chicken Baos (with mouthwatering bites of coconut, cilantro and Thai chili sauce).
New to the shareables menu are the Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks, hot and crispy logs of ooey gooey cheese, waiting for your phone camera to capture that glorious cheese pull moment. Dip your stick into the accompanying ranch to cool things off or keep your mozz sticks traditional style with signature marinara sauce.
Exclusively available during football season, the craveable Crispy Chicken Bites are just $10 and served with a luscious honey mustard for dipping. Other $10 gameday Bar Bites include BBQ Pork Nachos, Pretzel Dippers, Cheeseburger Sliders and Buffalo Chicken Dip, alongside $5 NÜTRL, $5 Blue Moon, $5 Bud Light drafts and $25 Bud Light Towers. For groups settling in to watch the game, Kings offers a $150 Tailgate Package featuring a bucket of 50 wings and two beer towers. Fans can also enter for the chance to score a $200 Fanatics gift card, with one winner selected each week.
Courtesy of Chicago’s own Max and Leo’s, Kings offers coal-fired pizzas to feed the masses! We opted for the delicious Italian Sausage Pizza, a tomato-based ‘za featuring sweet Italian sausage and zingy peppadew peppers. If you’ve got a big crowd, the portion sizes are perfect for ordering a few and gluten-free crusts are available on all pizza options.
If you’ve read any previous review articles, you’d know that when there is a Cookie Skillet on the menu, we’re getting it. The King’s version is a tried-and-true chocolate chip cookie drizzled with chocolate sauce, a few scattered chocolate chips and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream as the centerpiece.
Pair your game with craft cocktails like the Berry Bad Behavior featuring raspberry vodka, peach schnapps and sugar-free Red Bull; or head south of the border with the margarita-like Siesta (tequila, lime juice, mint simple syrup and soda water) and the Fiery Mango Margarita (spicy tequila, mango, triple sec, lime juice and tajin). If your phone drinks first, opt for the King Pin Old Fashioned made with bourbon, rosemary simple syrup, and bitters presented in a smoking cloche. Be sure to snap a photo before the smoke dissipates!
What Kings is truly known for is its bowling. Great for a date or a crowd, get yourself set up with a 2-hour window of nonstop games while you munch on lane-friendly food and quench your thirst with selections from the full bar. A plethora of billiards, arcade games and big screen tvs will keep you entertained while you await your next turn to roll!
Kings Lincoln Park is located in the NEWCITY district at 1500 N Clybourn. The dining and entertainment destination is open at 4pm Monday through Thursday and 11:30am Friday through Sunday.
