Kinzie Chophouse is marking 35 iconic years by stepping into an exciting fresh era. Marking a historic milestone since its 1991 debut, the restaurant has introduced weekend brunch—a spirited affair highlighted by $40 bottomless oysters and martinis. Every Saturday and Sunday, diners can indulge in options honoring the establishment's prime steakhouse heritage. Highlights include decadent ribeye steak with eggs, savory crab benedict layered with spinach and hollandaise, plus a luscious lobster roll featuring spicy mayo and tarama. Naturally, the true star is the endless oysters alongside ice-cold vodka martinis (available with an entree order)—crafted as an inviting weekend gathering opportunity that keeps your wallet happy.
Of course, the highlight of Kinzie’s brunch is their $40 Bottomless Martinis and Oysters, an absolute steal compared to similar offerings around the city. Martini fixings are wheeled around on a beverage cart and shaken tableside. Choose your preferred spirit (vodka or gin) and make it dirty or straight up. Select from two types of green olives, blue cheese-stuffed and regular, ready for a dunk in an elegant Nick & Nora glass. A platter of oysters is always being whisked around the dining room to replenish any empty plates while the obligatory mignonette, cocktail sauce and mini Tabasco bottles await their moment in the slurping spotlight.
If you can’t exist off of just martinis and oysters, Kinzie Chophouse has a succinct brunch menu to soak up the liquor and fuel you for the remainder of the day (or cause you to lose all motivation and need a nap). You can of course opt for one of the signature Steak & Eggs selections but on the more delicate side, we recommend the savory Quiche Lorraine with bits of smoked bacon, creamy spinach and melted aged gruyere.
Kinzie’s brunch offers luxury in every dish. Their indulgent French Toast is no exception with pillowy mountains of mascarpone and white chocolate cream dotting the top, finished with a drizzle of sharp espresso anglaise.
More carbs are necessary if you are partaking in the $40 bottomless deal and the restaurant’s Pastry Basket has you covered. The pastry assortment varies based on season but is always accompanied by seasonal jam, butter and luscious honey. During our visit, we enjoyed a fresh-baked croissant, slices of sourdough toast and an incredibly divine blueberry & custard-filled lattice pastry.
We know not everyone is a fan of traditional martinis or oysters for that matter, so there is no shame in ordering off of the regular cocktail menu. Dark and moody, just like the dining room, both the Espresso Martini (vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso) and Nuit Noir (mezcal, tequila, passion fruit, lime, and charcoal) are our faves to sip on while indulging in Kinzie’s spectacular brunch.
Kinzie Chophouse is located at 400 N Well St. They are open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays only from 11am to 3pm.
