Lottie's Pub

Kick off the Kentucky Derby with Lottie's 'Very Happy Hour' from 3pm to 7pm. Specials include $7 Woodford Mint Juleps, $5 Blue Moon Pints, and $6 Kentucky's Best Bourbons (Woodford, Old Forester, Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Jim Beam, and Makers).

Guests can also sport their best derby hat for the chance to win Lottie's best hat competition. The winner will take home a $100 gift card. Other festivities include a Woodford Reserve sampling & prize giveaway along with an Official Derby Step & Repeat to take photos in front of.

Ina Mae Tavern

Ina Mae Tavern's Kentucky Derby Watch Party is on Saturday, May 7th. Live music will begin at 2pm, and the Derby will play with sound. 

Specials include $10 Maker's Mark & Woodford Reserve Mint Juleps, Whiskey Sours and Old Fashioned's, and $17 Fried Chicken Plates (served with Coleslaw & a Biscuit). There will also be a best dressed and best hat competition.

Frontier Chicago

On Saturday, May 7th from 3 to 6 pm, guests can sip on $10 Mint Juleps, Whiskey Sours & Old Fashioneds and order $18 Fried Chicken Plates (served with Coleslaw and Mac & Cheese). 

The Derby will be playing with sound. Best dressed & best hat competitions will take place during the party.

Small party reservations are available via Tock. For groups of 6 or more, reservations must be made by emailing jen@pioneertaverngroup.com. Large parties must arrive by 3pm, and a $50 deposit must be submitted that will go towards the final bill.

PB&J

PB&J is hosting an afternoon of celebration with a multitude of TVs all throughout the restaurant. From 3 to 6 p.m. PB&J is offering table reservations for all large parties with a special promotion of one free White-Claw hard seltzer per person when purchasing tickets and giveaways offered throughout the event. Plus, wear your finest derby hat and receive 15% off your order. With TVs all around the bar, you can catch this year’s race.

Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago

This Derby Day, don your most fashionable hat or headpiece and head to the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago on Saturday, May 7 for high tea in celebration of the Kentucky Derby. Watch the Derby while sipping on a selection of teas, with savory treats, assortment of sweets, and petits fours curated by Executive Chef Leondard Ventura.

Ambassador Chicago 

The 2022 Kentucky Derby takes place on May 7, and to celebrate the ‘Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports’ Ambassador Chicago will be hosting an exclusive viewing party of the annual horse race. On Saturday, May 7 from 1:30-6:30 p.m., a screening will take place in the Gold Coast hotel property’s screening room where guests can order derby treats including Old Forester Mint Juleps ($12), Pimento Cheese Dip with Home Fried Chips ($10), and other offerings.

Admission is free and is on a first come first served basis.

I|O Godfrey

I|O Godfrey, the year-round rooftop restaurant and lounge at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, announces its ninth-annual Kentucky Derby Viewing Event on Saturday, May 7 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The restaurant will feature a photo booth, a live bugler, prizes, performers, live atmosphere models, photographers and videographers, a living mint wall, a floral step & repeat, and more.

Guests can dress in formal Derby attire and attend the annual viewing party, fully equipped with a plethora of TV screens showing the horse race and a backdrop of skyline views. Additionally, a specialty southern cuisine-inspired menu from Executive Chef Alfonso Martinez will be offered, with items including: Sauced Oysters with a choice of (6) mix & match varieties: Bloody Mary, dragon fruit, or passion fruit ($15); Fish & Chips with tempura-battered Atlantic cod, chipotle aioli, lemon, and fries ($16); Kobe Brisket served with two house-made barbeque sauces ($16); Shrimp or Chicken Skewers with 24-hour marinade ($14); and Grilled Corn with cayenne pepper aioli, cotija cheese, and sea salt ($10).

A curated selection of signature horse-inspired cocktails will also be available for purchase, including the Classic Derby Julep with Maker’s Mark bourbon, fresh mint, and simple syrup served over ice; Tea’s the Bomb, inspired by the horse “Tiz the Bomb,” with Effen Original vodka, Aperol, hibiscus dream tea, ginger syrup, fresh lemon, topped with Prosecco; and Wired Abarrio, inspired by the horse “White Abarrio,” with Tres Generaciones tequila, Mr. Black Coffee liqueur, Amaro Montenegro, and fresh espresso. For table service, Mint Julep kits will be offered, which include a bottle of Maker’s Mark bourbon, fresh house-made mint syrup, crushed ice, mint leaves, and eight julep cups that guests can take home with them ($400 plus service fee and tax).

New this year, bourbon 101 classes will be offered for guests to learn about the libation, tasting notes, bourbon cocktails, and more. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and will require guests to sign up upon arrival. 

The event will also feature prizes for “Best Hat,” “Best Dressed,” and “Best Couple,” including tickets to the Maker’s Mark Barrel Room at Wrigley Field for a Cubs Game, the speakeasy-style bar and lounge next to the batting tunnel that offers an all-inclusive menu and carving station, plus a full open bar; Tickets to the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Kentucky for a VIP tour and bottle dipping will also be granted to two lucky winners (does not include travel or accommodations); and additional prizes that will also be available to win.

Cody's Public House

Cody’s will host a Beer Garden Infield Derby Day party on Saturday, May 7. The dog-friendly event will feature a Best-Dressed Doggy Derby Contest (hat or outfit) with prizes including a $100 gift card. Guests can order Cody’s Der-B-Que where they provide the grill and sides likes cole slaw, potato salad and rolls and patrons are invited to B.Y.O.M. (bring your own meat) to grill. Drink specials like $5 Old Forester shots, $4 Blue Moon and $6 Woodford Mint Juleps will be available and party-goers can also participate in Woodford and Blue Moon samplings and giveaways. 

The Graystone Tavern

For the big race, The Graystone Tavern in Wrigleyville will celebrate with a viewing party and a free Win, Place & Show raffle with a variety of prizes. Guests can also choose from themed specials like a $12 Kentucky Hot Brown Turkey Burger, $8 Woodford Reserve Mint Julep, and $8 Woodford Strawberry Iced Tea.

The Rambler Kitchen + Tap

The Rambler will offer a Down & Derby Package for $40 per person on Saturday, May 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The package includes food items like fried chicken, pulled pork, pulled pork nachos, mac & cheese, coleslaw, corn on the cob and rolls. Drinks will include Woodford Reserve Mint Juleps along with craft, import and domestic draft beers, and house red, white and sparkling wines. Free Derby swag will be available and guests can participate in a Best Dressed Contest for a chance to win a $100 gift card. A DJ playing southern rock and county jams will spin all afternoon.
