Z Bar 

The Mardi Gras party on Saturday, March 2 will feature a live DJ; Frozen Hurricanes made with overproof rum and fresh tropical fruit juices; and beads, boas and other party essentials. Guests are welcome to enjoy the Frozen Hurricane on its own ($18) or with friends in large format, served in a whole pineapple ($48). The cocktail will be among the specials offered at the festively lit lounge from Friday, March 1 through Fat Tuesday, March 5, along with Crab Beignets and a Micro Muffuletta Trio.

The Chow Brothers

The Chow Brothers at Wells Street Market are embracing their Polish heritage on Fat Tuesday, March 5, offering two of their most-popular flavors of packzi. The Boozy Berry has a raspberry jelly filling kissed with a touch of Polish vodka and the Nutella Cream combines a Bavarian creme filling with the cult favorite Nutella. Both packzi are available on Fat Tuesday only! 

Firecakes

Donut slinger Firecakes is celebrating the season with a traditional king cake donut and packzi. Inspired by the traditional King Cake in celebration of Fat Tuesday, the large donut is four servings, built by a double-stacked yeast-raised donut, with vanilla icing and finished with gold, green & purple sugar, including an edible sugar baby. Packed in a Custom Gift Box including the King Cake Story Sticker on top and priced at $16.95. The traditional Paczki are made from a rich yeast dough made with eggs and butter and filled with a variety of jellies and custards. The four varieties include: Raspberry Blood Orange Jelly, Chocolate Malt Custard, Drunken Plum Jam, and Meyers Lemon Curd. Sold individually for $2.69 or by the dozen for $26.95. Stan's Donuts & Coffee

Stan’s gets in on the fun too with a limited-edition King Cake Donut and Paczki available from Friday, March 1 through Fat Tuesday, March 5 at all ten Stan’s locations. The King Cake Donut ($2.75) offers a twist on the circular iced pastry, blanketed with a vanilla glaze and finished with a sprinkling of green, purple and yellow sugar and a baby gummy candy nestled on top. Four varieties of Paczki are similar to bismarks but made with a richer egg dough, with the following fillings: Pastry Cream, Chocolate Pastry Cream, Cannoli Cream and Cherry. Stan’s Paczki are $2.95 each, $16.95 for a half-dozen and $32.95 for a dozen.

Drawl

Drawl, a southern-style restaurant in Lincoln Park, will be celebrating its southern roots during Mardi Gras on Tuesday, March 5 from 6pm - 9pm. Tickets include all-you-can-eat Low Country Boil with crawfish, corn, and potatoes and a Hurricane Cocktail. In addition to the boil, guests can also order from a limited regular menu. While dining and sipping, guests will be treated to live bluegrass music all evening. Tickets are $35 online or $40 at the door.

Four Entertainment Group

Chicagoans can join Four Entertainment Group (4EG) as they host a Fat Tuesday celebration with aliveOne, Easy Bar, Estelle's, Remedy and The Owl. All locations will be decked out in Mardi Gras decorations and will offer complimentary beads to all guests (while supplies last). As a special surprise, the horn section of local Chicago funk and soul band, Nasty Snacks, will stop by each location throughout the night for a surprise performance between 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. Each location will have specials like Hurricanes, $2 and $3 select beers and more. Hubbard Inn

Hubbard Inn wants guests to get in the Mardi Gras spirit with a week-long celebration featuring New Orleans-themed food and drinks. For $10 each, patrons can enjoy a Sazerac, French 75 and Creole Cocktail. Created by Executive Chef Jason Hedin, menu items will include Fried Oyster Po Boys ($15), Smoked Chicken Andouille Flatbread ($16), Shrimp and Grits ($27) and Cinnamon Beignets ($10).

On Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m., Hubbard Inn will host a Mardi Gras-style Ladies Night Two-Year Anniversary Party with live performances from saxophonists, DJs, jugglers, and magicians. Tickets are $10 each and include a choice of beer, wine or cocktail plus two raffle tickets to win prizes like a trip for two to New Orleans, a Chicago staycation, gift cards, specialty liquor bottles and more. In addition to the Mardi Gras menu, Ladies Night food and drink specials include select $9 drinks and $5 shots, chocolate strawberries ($10), artisanal charcuterie plate ($20), artisanal cheese plate ($20), three cheese flatbread ($12), truffle sliders ($12), ahi tuna tartare ($12), bacon wrapped medjool dates ($12), manchego croquettes ($12) and burrata ($12). Parlay at Joy District

Parlay will celebrate Mardi Gras with themed food specials created by Executive Chef Jason Hedin including chorizo and cheddar beignets ($10), smoked chicken andouille pizza ($13), fried shrimp po'boy ($15), and a King Cake cupcake ($5). Cocktail specials for $14 each will include a French 75, Pineapple Daiquiri and Hurricane.

Weber Grill-Schaumburg

In prep for Mardi Gras, Chicagoans can enjoy a New Orleans-style dinner on the grill at this demonstration-style class in the Grill Academy at Weber Grill Restaurant in Schaumburg. From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., guests will learn tips on how to make New Orleans recipes including Char Grilled Oysters with Chili Butter, "NOLA" BBQ Shrimp, Grilled Andouille Sausage Po' Boy Sandwiches and Smoked Chicken Dirty Rice.

Saint Lou's Assembly 

Grab your masks and throws and head down to Saint Lou’s Assembly on March 5th to celebrate Fat Tuesday with a Mardi Gras-themed happy hour. Transport yourself to The Big Easy as you sip on Hurricanes and creatively crafted Mount Gay rum cocktails while trying New Orleans-inspired food items.

Velvet Taco 

The fast-casual restaurant known for creating tacos with international flavors, will release a Mardi Gras themed Weekly Taco Feature (WTF) available March 4th through March 10th. The Gator Gras Taco features fried alligator, house shred, chipotle crema, corn pico, garnished with micro cilantro, on a homemade hibiscus corn tortilla.

ROOF on theWit

ROOF on theWit, 201 North State Street, wants to help celebrate with all things purple, green, and yellow! Beginning Wednesday, March 6 through Saturday, March 9, the rooftop bar will offer patrons a King Cake Martini, crafted with Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Grand Marnier, Baileys, a dust of cinnamon, and a rim covered in Mardi Gras colored sprinkles, for $14 each.
