PB&J

Celebrate National Sandwich Month all August long at this West Loop spot. Diners can order the “Country Chicken Sandwich” made with Cornflake-Crusted Fried Chicken, Creamy Slaw, and a Chipotle Aioli. Also on the menu, diners can order “The Smoked BBQ” sandwich featuring House Smoked Pork Belly, topped with Dill Pickles, Crispy Onions, on a Brioche bun. 

Funkenhausen

Available during brunch service, diners can take a bite into the “Heirloom Tomato BLT'' at this West Town spot. Served on a brioche bun, the BLT is served with dukes mayo, neuskes bacon, little gem lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, hot sauce, and is served with a side of crispy potatoes. 

Lardon

Cured meats are the foundation of the newly-opened Lardon. We recommend ordering their Hotel California. Take a bite of stacked in-house smoked turkey, pepper jack cheese, avocado, pickled red onion, and black pepper bacon between two slices of fresh baked sourdough bread. 

The Smith 

Order The Smith’s signature sandwiches available during weekday lunch or weekend brunch. Diners can choose from a variety of handcrafted sandwiches including the “Veggie Burger Royale” which includes a slow roasted veg + quinoa patty, cheddar, pickled beets, shredded lettuce, red onion, secret sauce, on a sesame brioche bun. Also available, diners can bite into a Grilled Chicken Sandwich featuring burrata, tomato jam, basil aioli, on toasted ciabatta bread.

Recess

Let yourself take a break and go to Recess in Chicago. Diners can view the Chicago skyline while on Recess’s patio, and they can dive into their Fried Chicken Sandwich for National Sandwich Month. Sweet vinegar slaw, pickles, red onions and hot sauce mayo top a crispy fried chicken breast on a bun. Make it gluten free if you want. All sandwiches are served with your choice of tater tots or a side salad. 

urbanbelly

You can find Chef Bill Kim’s urbanbelly Hot Chicken Bao Buns at both the Wicker Park location and at their Time Out Market kitchen in Fulton Market for National Sandwich Month. One of Chef Kim’s specialties, hot chicken is served topped with cabbage, pickle and lemongrass fire sauce on fresh made bao buns.

Rose Mary

Cooked in a hearth and served on a loaf of ajvar-spread lepinja bread, Rose Mary’s Cevapi is a traditional Balkan treat for National Sandwich Month. Cevapi are uncased Balkan sausages made of beef and lamb. Order them served with a Serbian roasted red pepper relish made with bell peppers, garlic eggplant, and olive oil. The bread is also served with kajmak, which features feta, cream cheese, sour cream and parsley. 

FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar

Experience farm-to-table dining in Downtown Chicago at FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar. The American grill concept, offers a menu featuring the Midwest meat, freshwater fish and produce. To celebrate National Sandwich Month, Executive Chef Leonard Ventura’s BBQ Brisket Sandwich made with shredded BBQ, brisket, onions on brioche bun. 

Lost Larson

Lost Larson’s Scandanvian roots are on full-display with their smørrebrød, or Danish open-faced sandwiches, available each day in their Andersonville bakery. Each order is served with chips or salad, and you can choose from their smoked salmon, avocado, ham and cheese, or a turkey club for lunch. 

The Dearborn  

Celebrate National Sandwich Month with The Dearborn's signature "Buffalo Chicken Sandwich." Featuring a blue-cheese boursin spread, buttermilk battered chicken breast, topped with dill pickles, house made buffalo sauce, rainbow slaw and is served on ciabatta bread.

Goddess and Grocer

Chicago's own, Goddess and Grocer offers great sandwich deals every day. For $10, guests can opt for a 1/2 Sandwich & Soup and add Kettle Chips ($1.75) or French Fries ($3.50) to complete their meal. A few highlights from the Goddess sandwich menu include:  

  • Short Rib Grilled Cheese - beef short rib with butterkase cheese, arugula, pickled red onion, and horseradish sauce on grilled challah 
  • Debbie's Egg Salad - hard cooked egg salad with salt and pepper, dijon mustard, mayo, arugula, sliced cucumber on sunflower wheat 
  • California Dreaming - roast turkey breast, swiss, avocado, beefsteak tomato, lemon aioli on sunflower wheat 
  • Wicker Park - roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, spinach and basil pesto on a tuscan roll
