Amidst a long first few days of 2021 already, Chicago restaurants are still getting creative and offering something fun & safe to do and distract from this January.
Here are some new experiences available this month:
Recess's Fire & Ice Outdoor Pop-Up
Stroll through Recess's patio exploring ice sculptures and snapping a photo at many Instagram photo opps. Once you're done perusing the winter wonderland, head over to one of the firepit tables to toast some s'mores while sipping on a warm specialty cocktail, included in ticket purchase. Open weekends Friday through Sunday throughout January. Adults are $15 and include a cocktail, s'mores and pretzel stick. Kids are $5 and include a snowflake crafting kit. Tickets available on Eventbrite here.
Sepia and Proxi's Virtual Culinary Weekends
A two-day culinary retreat in the comfort of your home with the team at Sepia & PROXI. On Saturdays, they are offering a virtual wine tasting hosted by Wine Director Jennifer Wagoner. On Sundays, cook alongside Chef Andrew Zimmerman as he guides guests through using Michelin-starred techniques from his own home kitchen. The wine from Saturday pairs with the dishes you’ll make on Sunday. Pick-up the wine and the ingredients for the Sunday Supper at the restaurant on Saturday.
The first Sepia weekend experience is Jan. 16-17, available here: https://www.exploretock.com/sepiachicago
The first Proxi weekend is Jan. 30-31, available here: https://www.exploretock.com/proxichicago/
Additionally, heated outdoor dining is still available at these two River North restaurants: Nonnina and The Smith.
