Brrr… Whether you are taking the bus, train or driving in to work this week, we all feel it – that aching, longing feeling of leaving the comfort of your warm bed just to walk into that heap of unshoveled snow outside. With temperatures only continuing to hit record lows in the coming days, here are a few places that are offering cold weather specials to help make this brutal week a little more bearable.

VU Rooftop Bar

South Loop’s first year-round rooftop destination located at 133 East Cermak, has a way to warm you up during Chicago’s frigid days ahead. Going on now until March 1, when temperatures hit five degrees or lower, VU will offer guests two hot cocktails available for $5 each. Patrons can select either their signature Port #2, mixed with rum, citrus, and spices, or Cider #1, with brandy, honey, ginger, berries, and spices. If guests are still cold, they may just need to order both.

Russian Tea Time

Chicago winters can be rough but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a par-tea, and Chicago’s Russian Tea Time, perfectly nestled at 77 E Adams St has the perfect remedy in mind. Beginning January 28, when temperatures hit three degrees or lower, Russian Tea Time will offer guests $3 pots of their house-blended teas. Patrons can sip on a variety of Oolong, Green, White, and Black Teas, as well as caffeine free options.
