Passion House Coffee and Veterans Roasters
On Veterans Day, November 11, 2019, Passion House Coffee Roasters will exclusively be serving Veteran Roasters' Coffee in all three of their Chicago cafes (Logan Square, Goose Island, Politan Row). Bags of their coffee will also be available for purchase.
Passion House has partnered with Veteran Roasters Coffee since their inception to help source and roast coffee with their team of all-veteran employees, teaching them essential job skills in the coffee industry along the way.
There are over 162,000 chronically homeless veterans in the United States. Two decades of wars have stretched the country’s military resources and have unfortunately left many men and women with physical and emotional scars that they are left to deal with for a lifetime. Veteran Roasters Coffee was established with the mission to combat chronic unemployment in the veteran community. They started a company that could provide growth, and most importantly, providing skills and opportunities in the coffee industry. The craft roasting community has grown dramatically in recent years. When they connected with Joshua Millman and the Passion House Coffee Roasters team about partnering to hire and train veterans in the coffee industry, the idea for Veteran Roasters Coffee took flight. Support from Passion House allows them to find and roast some of the best coffee beans from all around the world. At Veteran Roasters, they pay a living wage, help veteran employees with housing, childcare, and daily living expenses so they can concentrate on bettering themselves, and roasting great coffee.
Veteran Roasters Coffee CEO Branden Marty and Veteran Roasters employees will be at the cafes throughout the day, mingling with visitors and chatting about their important cause, check the Passion House social channels for schedule updates.
Lucky Strike Social at Wrigleyville is celebrating our nation’s troops this Veterans Day with an exclusive deal! All vets and active military personnel who come to Lucky Strike on Veterans Day (11/11) will receive one hour of bowling, a burger and fries, and a beer, all for $10.
