Nico Osteria is launching a very special contest on Valentine’s Day to win a classic Italian wedding reception for up to 100 guests.

  • Starting on Valentine’s Day, guests can submit their story of how they met and what an Italian wedding at Nico Osteria would mean to them at https://www.nicoosteria.com/wedding-contest.
  • Contest is open February 14-March 14, 2020. Winner will be announced no later than March 31, 2020. Wedding prize will be valid through this year, December 30, 2020.

District Brew Yards

It’s time for some puppy love: Grab your four-legged friend, and join Bold Dog Beer Co. for another pup party at District Brew Yards (417 N. Ashland)! Howlentine’s Day takes place Sunday, February 16, 1-5 p.m. in the brewery; dog guests and their owners can enter through the dock on Hubbard Street. Bold Dog will also be releasing a new beer, a peach and dragon fruit gose. Holiday-themed dog attire encouraged and may get featured on @brewyards Instagram.

Finom Coffee

Finom Coffee (4200 W. Irving Park Road). The pink-hued Tres Leches De la Rosa Latte (8 oz., $4.25; 12 oz., $5; 16 oz $5.75) combines espresso with three milks—steamed whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk—and Mexican peanut marzipan candy. Settle into the vintage furniture and stay a while, and even order some Hungarian-inspired small plates by Co-Chefs/Owners Rafael Esparza and Daniel Speer when hunger strikes. Finom is open 7 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.

Wood

Duck into Wood restaurant (3335 N. Halsted St.) for the four-course couples menu, priced at $70/person. The meal from Executive Chef Ryan Brosseau and team starts off with Oysters Rockefeller with parsley, butter, breadcrumbs, and lemon, then moves into servings of Hand-cut Taglierini, dressed in olive oil, roasted garlic, truffle, and pecorino. The main course features choice of Chateaubriand for Two, CDK Angus filet mignon, wild mushrooms, sauce bordelaise, and pomme purée; or Salmon en Croûte for Two, with sorrel cream sauce, lemon, and fennel salad. Sweethearts end with Pot de Crème, dark chocolate custard, English toffee, orange caramel, and candied orange garnish.

The Rose Hotel

To celebrate the love in the air this Valentine's Day, The Rose Hotel located in Rosemont has collaborated with The Prisoner Wine Company to host a special pairing dinner on February 14 hosted by John Samaritano featuring a menu crafted by Executive Chef Nicholas Malloy. For $80 per person, the evening will include a cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m. and a seductive dining experience guided and expertly paired with world class wines beginning at 7 p.m. including the following: 

  • Scallops with Parsnip Puree, Poached Apple, Shaved Asparagus, Pancetta and Micro Greens

Ocean Prime Chicago

Ocean Prime, located at 87 E. Wacker, will be offering a special menu addition for Valentine’s Day diners.The special dish, crafted by Executive Chef Jason Shelley, is a Roasted Sea Bass over Alaskan King Crab Gnocchi with Champagne CreamThe dish is topped with a Baby Carrot Salad in a Preserved Lemon Pepper Vinaigrette. 

Geja's Cafe

Geja’s Café, located at 340 W. Armitage, will be celebrating Valentine’s from Sunday, February 9 through Monday, February 17. Geja’s Café will be decorated for the love-filled holiday and will feature a selection of rosé sparkling wines and champagnes, fondue cuisine, complemented with entertainment throughout the evening from live flamenco and classical guitarists. The Valentine’s Festival will also play host to the Celebration of Marriage Night, where couples receive an added discount based on the years they have been married.

“Our goal at Geja’s Café is to create the perfect Valentine’s experience for our guests that spans past the actual day,” says Jeff Lawler, Geja’s Proprietor. “We will combine the necessary ingredients of an intimate atmosphere to include fine champagnes, lavish decorations, live music, flower arrangements by Dilly Lily, couple massage packages at Massage House in Lincoln Park, and delicious fondues into the perfect recipe for romance.”

Beginning February 9, couples can also indulge in Geja’s Celebration of Marriage, on Monday, February 10. With proof of total years married, couples will receive a celebration savings of 1% off their food bill for every year married. As an example, couples wed 15 years will enjoy a 15% celebration savings.

For those looking to celebrate on Friday, February 14, Geja’s will offer a Valentine’s Dinner Package which includes a glass of Laurent-Perrier Rose Champagne, Geja’s Swiss Gruyere cheese fondue, Geja’s salad with a Dijon vinaigrette, entrée fondue of Beef Tenderloin, Australian Lobster Tail and Gulf Shrimp, Geja’s luscious Belgian flaming chocolate dessert fondue and a Geja’s Valentine’s forever keepsake. All seating times are $125 per person. Tax and gratuity is included. Seating times available are as follows: 3:00-5:00 p.m., 4:00-6:00 p.m., 5:30-7:30 p.m., 6:30-8:30 p.m., 8:00-10:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.          

Reservations for the Valentine’s Dinner Packages are now available. A credit card payment at the time of reservation is required. Geja’s regular reservation policies and menu will be in place for the remainder of the Valentine’s week. Allgauer's on the Riverfront

Allgauer’s on the Riverfront, located within Hilton Chicago Northbrook, invites diners to join them in celebrating love with dinner specials curated by Executive Chef Nicholas Landeweer. Couples will be offered a special menu consisting of the following:

  • Appetizers:
    • Grilled Shrimp wrapped in smoked salmon and served with citrus-herb aioli
    • Lobster Risotto with lobster chunks, green beans, herbs and Italian cheeses
  • Salad:
    • Beets, Apple and Almond Salad made prepared with dried cherries, goat cheese tart and topped with white balsamic vinaigrette
  • Entrees:

The Albert, an art and science inspired restaurant located at 228 E. Ontario, is hosting diners in for a special astrology-themed five course culinary experience on February 14, February 15 or February 16 for $105 per person. Hornblower Cruises & Events Chicago is hosting several Valentine's Day Weekend cruises on Lake Michigan and the Chicago River on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15. Guests of each two or three-hour cruise will be offered a private table with views of Chicago's architecture from their seats, a freshly-cut single rose per couple and the opportunity to dance the night away following a buffet or plated meal. Both Lunch and Dinner menus feature a first-course Caesar Salad, a second-course Lobster Bisque and an array of options for dessert. Lunch entree options include Jumbo Forest Mushroom Ravioli, Maple & Mustard Glazed Chicken Breast, Oven Baked Fresh Atlantic Salmon Filet and Braised Beef Short Rib, while dinner entree options include Jumbo Forest Mushroom RavioliOven Roasted Frenched Chicken Breast with Rosemary & Thyme or six-ounce USDA Choice Filet Mignon & Jumbo Shrimp. ROOH Chicago 

Situated at 736 W. Randolph, ROOH Chicago will be offering a special Valentine’s Day night. The restaurant will be treating couples to a sweet surprise, consisting of a popsicle with the flavor and shape revealed upon delivery.

State and Lake Chicago Tavern

State and Lake Chicago, 201 N. State St., will be offering a dessert treat for couples this Valentine’s Day. Guests who visit may order a Cuddle Bear Cake comprised of devils’ food cake, rum roasted bananas, vanilla bean mousse and strawberry crunch for just $15. The creation was artfully constructed by Chicago’s Queen of Pastry’s herself, Chef Toni Roberts.

ROOF on theWit

For dinner and drinks, venture 27 stories up above the city to ROOF on theWit’s Love the Drink You’re With weekend for live entertainment, a romantic view of the city, and specialty cocktails before you spend the night in one of theWit’s luxury hotel rooms. Indulge with sweet treats, a bottle of champagne, or a Heartbreaker Cake delivered directly to your room. Live entertainment will be available throughout Friday and Saturday night with DJs all weekend starting at 9:00 p.m., a live performance by The Champagne All Stars on Friday night from 6:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. and ballet dance performances during Saturday’s nightlife.

Raised, An Urban Rooftop Bar

Located at 1 W. Wacker Drive, Raised is offering a selection of Valentine’s inspired cocktails including the Rambling Rose, with rose vodka, manzanilla sherry, and a strawberry simple; Shake It Off, mixed with fino sherry, aperol banana liqueur, and lime juice; and a Run and Tell That, complete with buttermilk, raspberry puree, chocolate liquor, rum, and a blueberry vinegar. Patrons can also complement their cocktail selections with a Champagne Strawberry Almond Cake. In addition, live music will be offered from Aya Duo on February 13 from 5 to 7 p.m., as well as DJ Agent Forte on February 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Staytion Market and Bar

Staytion will also be featuring a sweet pairing available beginning on Thursday, February 13th through Saturday the 15th for $59. The sweet pairing includes a Moët Impérial Brut or Moët Rosé Impérial‎ (187 ml bottles) balanced with a Strawberry Inspiration Torte dessert. Live music will also be provided from Aly Jados on February 14 from 5-8 p.m.

Carnivale

Carnivale is offering guests a Valentine's Day Prix-Fixe menu for two available on February 14, 15 and 16! For $90, guests will be offered an appetizer, two entrees, one dessert and two glasses of Juve & Camps Rosé. Dishes couples may choose from include Oysters, Mar Y Tierra, Branzino A La Veracruzana, Cauliflower Asado, Vanilla Passion Fruit Bombe Cake and more. Those looking for a brunch-style celebration may order a Valentine's Buffet Brunch on February 16 from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., featuring a special chocolate station, for adults and kids, alike. 

Replay Lincoln Park 

Replay Lincoln Park, 2833 N. Sheffield Ave., is hosting a Parks and Recreation-themed Galentine’s Day celebration on Thursday, February 13 from 5 p.m. – 2 a.m. Reprising favorite cocktails (did someone say snake juice shots?), entertainment, decor and themed tumblers and t-shirts from the bar’s pop-up, Replay Lincoln Park guests are able to enjoy Parks and Recreation trivia, the musical stylings of DJ Bluntz and more. 

Lucky Strike Social at Wrigleyville

Lucky Strike Social at Wrigleyville, located at 1027 W. Addison St., is playing Cupid this Valentine’s Day weekend by offering two special Cupid’s Pairings Packages, available beginning Thursday, February 13 through Sunday, February 16. Patrons can select to sweeten their experience by selecting Pairing 1, which includes a lane reservation by the hour, one item from their Valentine’s Day menu that includes signature menu items such as Esteban's Nachos, Classic Cheeseburger, Chicken Tinga Quesadilla, Chicken Bites, and Wings, and choice of alcoholic beverage; along with Pairing 2, which includes a lane reservation with a glass of house wine per person, and their Sinful Chocolate Insanity, to share with your sweeter half. Packages begin at $17.

Beatnik West Town

On February 13, the bohemian West Town restaurant will host a No Human, No Cry party, offering guests $8 slushies, $8 spreads and $8 bubbles all night long, set to a backdrop of reggae-inspired island beats spun by DJ Papa G and friends.

Bordel

This Valentine’s Day, Bordel invites guests to VELVET, an evening of spontaneous cabaret performances and beats. On February 14, be seduced by the sights, sounds, and flavors of Paris as you are transported to the quarters of Pigalle & Montmartre. Speakeasy guests will be delighted by two pop-up burlesque performances beginning after 10:30 p.m. There’s no cover; VELVET is free. Reservations are not required.

Celeste

On February 13, Celeste will host a single’s bash, offering its happy hour menu all night long ($8 select bites and drinks). 

DISCO

DISCO is celebrating Galentine’s Day on February 13 and hosting a dance party set to throwback songs by all female artists spun by a female DJ. Grab a disco ball drink and celebrate female singers across the decades.

Come to DISCO on Valentine’s Day, February 14, for DISCO’s I Feel Love party, an evening showcasing disco love songs. 

Houndstooth

From February 4 to 25, Houndstooth Saloon transforms into French Korner - a Mardi Gras themed pop-up. Events will take place daily, including Mask Decorating on Tuesday, February 11. Ideal for girl groups, French Korner at Houndstooth will provide masks, feathers, beads, gems and more to create your very own Mardi Gras mask. Bottles of wine are half-priced all evening long. Put your mask to use and attend the Masquerade Ball on Saturday, February 15. 

Bar Biscay

The West Town restaurant is celebrating with a six-course menu highlighting the cuisine of the French countryside by Chef Alisha Elenz. The prix-fixe features choice of pan-seared scallops with mushroom risotto or bolognese, as well as roasted chicken with jus and an apricot, sage and pistachio chutney, or salmon en croute with asparagus, sherry cream and dill as mains, with a chocolate crepe cake for dessert. $75 per person with optional beverage pairings for $25. 

Black Bull

The Spanish restaurant even offers mini paellas designed to be shared by two people. 

El Che Steakhouse

Cozy up at the El Che hearth for a romantic parrillada platter for two. The Valentine’s Parrillada will go for $90 or $125 to be accompanied with a bottle of sparkling rose. The surf and turf platter features four prawns, one lobster tail, an 8 oz. filet and hollandaise sauce. The chef’s table is still available for reservations if you’re looking to get a group of couples together to celebrate. 

Filini

Join Filini at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago for a four-course meal with romantic touches for $64 per person. Available Friday, February 14 from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. the special Valentine’s Day meal will feature a Diver Sea Scallop starter, guests’ choice of a Winter Salad served with either Black Cod or Butter-Poached Tenderloin, and either a Bittersweet Symphony or Red Velvet Cake dessert. Diners will also receive a champagne toast and elegant box of truffles to take home. 

Funkenhausen

Chicago’s only German-Southern mash-up restaurant is saying “Ich liebe dich” with specialty cocktails in the spirit of the holiday, paying homage to Germany’s eastern neighbor, Poland—with vodka. New cocktails include a chocolate martini cocktail made with vodka, Bailey’s, chocolate and raspberry, as well as a new fruity red cocktail with vodka, cherries, cinnamon and lemon.

Gemini

The Lincoln Park bistro will be offering a prix-fixe menu for the entire night for $80 with an optional wine pairing add-on for $45. Prix-Fixe menu items will be available a la carte at the bar for those looking for something more casual. 

Mfk.

The Lakeview neighborhood spot is featuring a specialty 6-course tasting menu from Chef Alisha Elenz, including a welcome cocktail for $80 this Valentine’s Day.  Menu items include salmon roe with brown butter and radish, Brussels sprouts with smoked pork, garlic honey and pickles fresno and choice of Hanger Steak with grilled asparagus and smoked tomato vinaigrette or Poached Cod with chorizo butter, piquillos, and Yukon for the main. For additional romance in this cozy basement restaurant, opt-in for the wine pairing.

Stan's Donuts & Coffee

The Chicago donut shop is offering a fresh lineup of Valentine’s Day donuts and drinks, including a twist on a classic, the new Chocolate Dipped Red Velvet donut.

Stan’s Valentine’s Day collection includes four festive donuts and two Valentine’s Day drinks, plus Valentine’s Day Themed Sprinkle and Chocolate Dipped Red Velvet Mini Donuts. New to this year’s limited-edition donut lineup:

  • Chocolate Covered Strawberry Donut ($3.79), a strawberry glazed donut drizzled with chocolate and topped with a chocolate-covered strawberry  (available Feb. 13 – 14 only)

Artifact Events

This Valentine's Day, Artifact Events is hosting a night of dancing and drinks. Instructor Natasha Overtuff of the Giordano Dance Company will waltz you through the basics of ballroom dancing while you sip away on bubbles. Tickets for this event are $75 and include 2 hours of dance instruction, one welcome glass of complimentary champagne, and assorted treats and candies. Wine and Beer open bar package is available for an additional $30. A cash bar will also be open for purchase of additional beverages. Tickets are available through Eventbrite. 

Recess

Recess is hosting an Anti-Valentine’s Day Stupid Cupid party on Friday, February 14. The party will feature pitch-black cocktails (available in party-sized water coolers) along with a special "Eat Your Feelings" menu filled with comfort food. Release any anger and frustration with customizable inflatable punching bags available to be punched or posed with for pictures. In the mood to really break a heart? Recess will have heart-shaped pinatas filled with surprises for guests to tear apart. This event is open to the public, no ticket required. 

Papa Cenar

Papa Cenar will be offering a four-course dinner for $48 a guest. Indulge in Meditteranean and Spanish favorites from seafood paella, grilled lamb and the fresh catch of the day.

The Smith

The River North spot is keeping it casual this Valentine’s day with a specialty Valentine’s Day cocktail in addition to their a-la-carte dinner menu. The love-inspired cocktail blends gin, aperol, vanilla, raspberry, cassis and sparkling rosé into a beautiful pinkish hue ($13.50). 

Stan's Donuts & Coffee and Labriola

This Valentine's Day weekend, Labriola and Stan's Donuts & Coffee are teaming up on date night, delivered. For just $39, guests can order garlic knots, a heart-shaped pizza with one topping, and a half-dozen assortment of Stan's Valentine's Day donuts, all delivered to them. The offer is available exclusively through UberEats, Feb. 14 - 16.

Untitled Supper Club

On Thursday, February 13th, Untitled Supper Club is Galentine’s Boylesque and drag show, All The Single Ladies, featuring Chicago male burlesque performers, circus, contortion, aerial and variety performers, along with very special drag queen guests. The show starts at 8pm. 

Upstairs at the Gwen

The lobby bar at The Gwen hotel is teaming up with Veuve for a bubbly and aphrodisiac special, available all weekend of Valentine's Day, Thursday through Sunday. For $40, guests can enjoy a half-dozen East Coast oysters with two glasses of Veuve Champagne. Or,  a half-dozen alone ($15) or just a toast of discounted glasses of Veuve ($20) or Moet Rose ($22).

Chef Jimmy is hosting his annual Valentine's Day Cajun Cooking Class featuring a five-course dinner and demonstration on Wednesday, February 12, from 6-9 p.m. After receiving a champagne welcome, guests will receive personal instruction in the art of Cajun cooking from Chef Bannos, while sipping on beer, wine and Heaven on Seven hurricanes. In addition, guests will get to taste the finished product. This is an opportunity to learn about the history behind Heaven on Seven and the Bannos family on the 7th floor of the historic Garland Building and experience how it all began 40 years ago. Chef Jimmy will create a special Valentine’s Day themed menu for this cooking class. Tickets are $75 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and can be purchased by calling the restaurant at (312) 263-6443. Easy Bar in Wicker Park is hosting Chicagoans to create Valentine's Day cards for their sweetie all week leading up to the holiday. On Valentine's Day, Estelle's is hosting their 4th Annual "Wine About Your Love Life" night featuring half-price glasses of wine, available all evening for $6 each (normally $12). Wine selections include Beckstoffer '75 Company Cabernet Sauvignon, Planet Oregon Pinot Noir, Angels & Cowboys Rose, Iconic Sidekick Chardonnay and Babich Sauvignon Blanc. The Graystone Tavern

Chicagoans who visit The Graystone Tavern this Valentine's Day will enjoy a "Taco Dirty to Me" love-themed taco menu for $2 each including "When Chicken Met Taco" (grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, slaw, basil, mayo), "Taco 'bout Spicy Love" (fresh chicken breast, hand breaded and tossed in Korean BBQ sauce and slaw), and "Love and (chicken)tenderness" (fried chicken mac and cheese, slaw, hot sauce). Hubbard Inn

Diners will be offered a Valentine's Day dinner at the newly renovated Hubbard Inn with a three-course prix fixe menu for $50 per person created by Executive Chef Eric Babula. A beer and wine pairing menu will be available for an additional $25 per person. 

Highlights include a dozen East and West Coast Oysters, Heart-Shaped Ravioli (Semolina dough, braised beef short rib, house ricotta, poached beef jus, parmesan reggiano), Sweet Potato Gnudi (handmade pillows of sweet potato and ricotta, brown butter, crisp sage, balsamic reduction), Chocolate Porter Brownie (valrhona chocolate, vanilla porter reduction, applewood smoke, bourbon caramel, fruit powder, vanilla bean ice cream, pickled raspberry, basil), Rosé Panna Cotta (vanilla bean curd, rosé granita, rosehip syrup, sparkling rosé) and more. 

Mastro's

Guests will be offered a dinner with their sweetie and be offered a month-long Valentine's Day dessert special at Mastro's. The $18 dessert features a chocolate devils food butter cake baked with a cocoa and cream cheese topping served with chocolate ice cream, and drizzled with raspberry sauce and white chocolate ganache.

Morton's The Steakhouse

In celebration of Valentine's Day, Morton's in Chicago, Naperville, Northbrook, Rosemont and Schaumburg will feature a Steak and Lobster Special for $59. The entree includes an 8-ounce filet mignon paired with a 1¼ pound lobster topped with lobster butter sauce and finished with grated parmesan cheese and a savory puffed pastry.

Onward

Diners will be offered a romantic Valentine's Day dinner at Onward in Rogers Park with chef specials created by Executive Chef Patrick Russ. Features will include Alaskan King Crab Bisque (mirepoix, gochujang, creme fraiche; $14), 16-ounce Bone-In Braised Short Rib (white bean purée, sassafras, roasted baby carrots; $42), Island Creek Oysters (champagne granita, blood orange caviar; $2.50 each), and Berkshire Pork Loin (ricotta gnocchi, parsnip puree, char siu, rapini; $32). All guests will receive a complimentary pour of champagne to toast.

The Rambler

Guests are invited to get their group dates together to play The Bachelor themed team trivia at The Rambler in North Center on Friday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. Prizes will include a 10 person The Bachelor season finale viewing party for first place and a five person viewing party for second place. The viewing parties will include appetizers and drinks.

The Owl

In Logan Square, The Owl will host a casual Valentine's Day on Friday, February 14 with a half-price happy hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (excluding shots), and $6 glasses of BBLZ sparkling wine will be available all night. To celebrate the holiday, Illuminated Brew Works has added pink glitter to their Brony Double Dry Hopped Double IPA which will be available exclusively at The Owl. Candy and Valentine's Day cards will also be available for guests to write special notes on and give to the sweetie they spot in the bar. Tuscany on Taylor Street

Tuscany on Taylor Street will offer a la carte specials in celebration of Valentine's Day on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15. Created by Executive Chef Victorio Padilla, highlights include Grigliata Mista (shrimp, calamari, cannellini beans, garlic herb sauce; $15), Agnolotti (shrimp filled, citrus cream sauce, crab meat; $20), and Aragosta e Filetto (butter baked 6-ounce lobster, grilled 5-ounce filet, sautéed spinach; $42). Uvae Kitchen and Wine Bar

Guests will be offered chef specials and wine pairings this Valentine's Day weekend at Uvae in Andersonville. Yugen

In celebration of Valentine's Day, Michelin-starred Yugen in the West Loop will offer an 8-course tasting menu available for $250 per person (additional $150 for beverage pairing) from Thursday, February 13 through Saturday, February 15. 

Created by Executive Chef Mari Katsumura, the tasting menu features seasonal canapés paired with Paul Bara Special Club Rosé Champagne like Japanese Souffle Pancake (shiso cured trout, creme fraiche, Osetra caviar), Beef Jerky (fermented shiitake, cippolini onion, garlic aioli) and Alaskan King Crab (Motoyaki, Kaluga caviar, crispy potato). 

Other highlights include King Trumpet Soup (cherry boshi, housemade tofu, breakfast radish dashi) paired with Ama No To "Heaven's Door" sake, Sashimi (Fuyu persimmon, fresh yuzu, Royale caviar) paired with Champalou "Les Fondraux" Vouvray, Aged Rohan Duck (satsuma, gobo, chickories) paired with I Custodi "Pistus" Etna Rosso, Strawberry Shortcake (wasabi, black sesame, Nasturtium) paired with Royal Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos Red Label and more. Looking for a more casual Valentine's idea this year? Fry the Coop is offering a special Coop Bouquet meal for two on Valentine's Day for $21.99. The meal includes a bouquet of six tenders, two seasoned fries, two sauces, and two drinks. Plus, the tray will have chocolate hearts sprinkled around it as well. The Coop Bouquet meal will be available at the Chicago-West Town, Elmhurst, and Oak Lawn locations.

Texas de Brazil 

On Friday, February 14, they’ll be serving their full rodizio-style menu including their selection of churrasco-grilled meats, along with the preparations found at their 50-60 item salad area.

In addition to their regular menu, guests will be offered a sweet ending to their meal with any number of sweet Brazilian treats from their menu (Brazilian Cheesecake, Coconut Chess Pie, Brazilian Papaya Cream, and more), PLUS a special holiday dessert (available the entire month of February): Red Velvet Fusion Cake ($9). A layer of creamy white chocolate cheesecake batter is baked on top of a moist red velvet cake with sweet chocolate chips, cream cheese icing, and a drizzle of chocolate ganache.

Prime & Provisions

Prime & Provisions' tables will be adorned with red roses and will be offering off-menu dishes. The temporary menu's red meat option will be a USDA Prime, All-Natural Proper Steak Diane ($58), a 45-day dry-aged cut, served with roasted cremini mushrooms and green peas. In contrast to the red meat option, a rich Lobster and Shrimp Risotto ($42) made with heirloom tomatoes, spinach, and parmesan is also available. A new chocolate dessert, the Black Forest Gateau ($18), served with macerated cherries and mascarpone cream, will also grace the steakhouse's menu. 

Siena Tavern 

Siena Tavern is also expanding its menu for the evening, including dishes created by Top Chef alum, Fabio Viviani. To start the occasion, guests will have the option to order either one of Chef Vivani's staple dishes, like his Truffle Gnocchi, or the limited-time Salmon Crudo ($16) paired with yuzu vinaigrette, persian cucumber, and a poached egg. The restaurant will also offer Bucatini Carbonara ($24) with Brussels sprouts, crispy pancetta, and a poached egg. In addition, a Dover Sole Involtini ($36), served with a shrimp and scallop mousse, cauliflower beet risotto, and charred shishito peppers, and topped with a citrus reduction will be available. The occasion would be remiss without the presence of an all-new dessert; the Apple Crostata ($14) featuring vanilla gelato and 25-year balsamic.

Utopian Tailgate 

Utopian Tailgate – the 10,000 square foot rooftop indoor and outdoor space above The Second City building at 1608 N Wells St in Old Town – is hosting it’s a “Tied Up & Turnt” Valentine’s Day Party on Friday, February 14. The Tied Up & Turnt party features a “Rope for Lovers” class and a Japanese Shibari suspension performance from Chicago Rope, tarot card readings, aphrodisiac-filled & consensual-kink themed food and beverage specials, “funky disco” dance party, and more all in the inside party space at Utopian Tailgate.  

  • Events @ Tied Up & Turnt

From 7pm to 9pm, Chicago Rope will host a “Rope for Lovers” class that will teach guests the fun and safe ways to explore how to collaboratively create, analyze, and execute rope scenes and tying techniques. The class is free for the first 20 guests and a sign up sheet will be available on site. Each participating guest will receive a red rope they can take home to work on their new skills.   

Also from 7pm to 9pm there will be a free tarot card readings by a tarot professional.   

From 9pm to 9:45pm, members of Chicago Rope will do a Shibari Suspension Performance that will feature intricate ties on each other and aerial acts for all guests to watch.

The Sixth Cocktail Bar

The Sixth – the Lincoln Square cocktail bar from The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group – will transform into “As You Wish”: a The Princess Bride inspired Valentine’s pop-up bar from Tuesday, February 11 until Sunday, March 22.
 
As You Wish will feature 16 Princess Bride-inspired specialty cocktails that are all named after famous lines and characters from the movie from The Sixth’s bar manager Dylan Seo and his bar team. 

The entire cocktail bar space will be decked in over the top décor and scenes from and inspired by The Princess Bride for a truly immersive experience.
 
The “As You Wish” pop-up bar is named after the oft-repeated line in the movie when Wright’s character Buttercup instructs the Elwes’ character Westley to do something and he always complies and answers "As You Wish.”
 
As You Wish is the follow-up pop-up bar to The Sixth’s “Yippee Ki-Yay” – a Die Hard-inspired Christmas pop-up bar that was also a fully immersive experience for guests.

The Palm Chicago 

Offering a celebration of flavors this Valentine’s weekend, The Palm is serving a special three-course Valentine’s Dinner for Two featuring Nova Scotia Lobster paired with Prime New York Strip or Filet Mignon for $195. Couples looking to elevate their evening can add two glasses of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne for an additional $25.

For $195 per couple, The Palm’s Valentine’s weekend menu includes:

Acadia 

Chef Ryan McCaskey’s two Michelin-starred South Loop restaurant hosts a Four-Course Valentine’s Day Tasting Menu. Inspired by Chef Ryan’s visits to Maine since childhood, features a special menu with dishes such as Cured Salmon with parsnip-horseradish puree, dill beurre blanc, pickled mustard seed and apple; Wagyu Beef with carabinero prawn and curry bordelaise; and Flourless Chocolate torte served alongside passionfruit sorbet, vanilla bean caramel, and candied cocoa nibs. The Valentine’s Day menu is offered in addition to the ten-course winter menu and can be enhanced with optional wine pairing and roses.

The four-course tasting is available Thursday, February 13 – Sunday, February 16. 

Lawry's The Prime Rib

From February 13-16, Lawry’s celebrates a weekend of love with a prix fixe dinner for two. The prix fixe meal begins with a Crab and Avocado appetizer to share along with Lawry’s Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad, tossed in the air tableside by servers in brown gowns. The romantic evening continues with an entrée with choices including California Cut Roasted Prime Ribs of Beef served with mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, Skuna Bay Salmon with lobster mash and kale, Beef Wellington, or Marinated Portobello Steak with pearl onions, swiss chard, and farro (all entrees are accompanied by a side of creamed corn or creamed spinach). As a sweet treat, guests will share a CC Brown’s Hot Fudge Sundae for dessert. Guests can scour the wine list for a beverage to complement their meal, or order the Meat & Potato martini made with Chopin potato vodka and two colossal olives stuffed with horseradish and prime rib, shaken and poured tableside.

Valentine’s Day dinner is $129 per couple. 

Mercat a la Planxa

Mercat a la Planxa offers a Valentine’s Day tasting menu, For the Love of Spain, which features six courses inspired by cities in Spain. Each dish on the menu highlights flavor profiles from across the country, such as the Seville which features the local specialty of Carrillada de Cerdo, braised pork cheeks with tomato, and root vegetables and Toledo which features the local Perdiz a la Toledana, braised partridge with roasted potato and oyster mushroom. Guests can also order a beverage from the drink menu which features a curated selection of cava, sangria, wine and cocktail creations, like the Mercat Gin Tonic made with mahon gin, hum cardamom liqueur, lemon, rosemary, and Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic.

The Valentine’s Day tasting menu, priced at $125 per couple, includes six tapas and is available February 14 - 16 during dinner service. 

Portillo's (Locations throughout Chicagoland) 

The Chicago restaurant brand is offering a sweet treat for Valentine’s Day - a Heart-Shaped version of the restaurant’s Famous Chocolate Cake ($15.99). Baked fresh daily, the single-layer chocolate iced cake will be available at locations across Chicagoland.

As part of the promotion, Portillo’s will donate100% of the purchase price of each Portillo’s Heart-Shaped Chocolate Cake (up to $25,000) sold between January 14 and February 16 to the American Red Cross. Portillo’s is supporting the American Red Cross Biomedical Services, helping to ensure a safe and reliable blood supply is available for patients in need.  

Heart-Shaped cakes will be available for purchase in-store February 7-16. 

SafeHouse Chicago

The restaurant and bar clandestinely located in River North invites guest to put their love to test with a series of spy-themed challenges. Each visit to SafeHouse starts with guests performing a clearance test to gain entry and choosing a secret agent name to keep you incognito during your visit.

Guests can also order SafeHouse’s signature Love Potion ($15) shared cocktail - a potent red-hued drink for two. The restaurant is also offering a Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu featuring Grilled Shrimp, Caesar Salad with fried capers and peppered crostinis, and a New York Strip Steak with red wine butter and spaghetti squash alfredo.

SafeHouse’s Valentine’s Day menu is priced at $50 per person.

Sunda

Couples can reignite the fire this Valentine’s Day with a number of Southeast Asian-inspired specials from Sunda. At the Sushi Bar, guests can order the Bleeding Heart Maki with spicy tuna, pickled daikon, tobiko, and spicy mayo. Other specials include Baked Oysters with lobster uni butter, Chicken Khao Soi with curry sauce, coconut rice, and papaya salad, and a Pink Guava Cupcake for dessert. This occasion calls for a special toast with Sunda’s pink Umeshu “Umelicious” Plum Junmai Sake, which is served chilled and makes the perfect after dinner drink.

The Signature Room

Executive Chef Cardel Reid offers a four-course prix fixe menu from 5-11 p.m. Dinner begins with a choice of a Raw Bar For Two, Braised Short Rib, or Roasted Vegetable Platter; followed by soup or salad – Lobster Bisque or Tuscan Kale Salad; entrée choices include Pan Seared Sea Bass, Seared Scallops, Half Roasted Chicken, Grilled Filet of Beef, Roasted Lamb Shank, or Butternut Squash & Sage Ravioli; finished with a chefs’ Valentine Cookie for two.

The Valentine’s Day menu is available on Friday, February 14 for $125 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Pricing includes one glass of Signature Room Sparkling Wine or sparkling grape juice.

The Signature Room also offers the Ultimate Romance Dinner Package throughout the entire month of February. It provides an exclusive, private dining experience for couples, complemented by Dom Perignon Champagne and live musical entertainment. The package is for couples seeking a night of cuisine and wine, plus a dozen roses and their own butler service—not to mention floor to ceiling windows and views of the city of Chicago. The cost is $2,000, excluding tax and gratuity. 

Travelle at The Langham

Celebrate your love story at Travelle at The Langham with Chef Jeff Vucko’s romance-inspired prix fixe menu. Start the evening with the “First Date” amuse bouche, showcasing a French Kiss Oyster. The first course, “Make My Heart Melt,” features lobster bisque, brioche, and whipped crème fraîche. The following course, “First Kiss” offers tuna niçoise, haricot verts, asparagus, tomato, and quail egg. Next, “Treat Me Like Royalty, I’m Falling for You” incorporates dover sole, caramelized cauliflower and is topped with Ossetra Royale caviar. “Nuts About Wag-You” features Wagyu tri tip, celery root and apple puree, roasted carrot, kumquat, hazelnut, and chervil. Finally, to end the evening, Pastry Chef Danielle Marelli presents “It’s What’s Inside That Counts”: a chocolate raspberry profiterole with roasted cocoa-whipped ganache, coconut foam, and raspberry ice cream.

Travelle’s prix fixe Valentine’s Day menu is available Friday, February 14 from 5-10 p.m. for $155 per person.

WoodWind

Executive Chef Don Young offers a six-course dinner menu from 5-10 p.m. at the contemporary American restaurant perched 18 stories above Streeterville. The prix fixe menu includes Sable Fish with Champagne, brioche, and shiso; Capellini with black truffle, chives, and potato; Short Rib with passionfruit caramel, kabocha, and pickled slaw; and Milk Chocolate with almond, blood orange, and lemon basil. A shared cocktail for two is also on special for $28: Cupid’s Potion is made with Knob Creek small batch bourbon, Rosehip liqueur, Amaro Montenegro, and Aztec chocolate bitters.

The Valentine’s Day menu is available on Friday, February 14 for $95 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Wine pairings are available for an additional $45 per person.
