Brunch is coming to UMMO in River North. The contemporary Italian restaurant announced the launch of its weekend brunch available Saturdays & Sundays beginning March 30th from 10am - 2pm along with other new programming.

“We’re grateful for the incredible support we’ve received from the local community since opening UMMO last summer” shares Chef/Partner Jose Sosa. “Brunch is the natural next step in UMMO’s journey and we’re excited to see how our guests respond to the unique dishes we’ve created for them.”

With a range of Spuntini (starters), Piatti (savory), and Dolce (sweet), the brunch menu created by Chef Sosa features dishes meant to be shared. Whether guests are looking for something hearty like the UMMO Shakshuka with braised lamb belly ragu, whipped robiola cheese, organic eggs, mint pesto, and house-made pita bread – or something lighter like the Salmon Affumicato – house smoked salmon with toasted brioche, whipped mascarpone, avocado puree, Ikura, and fresh dill.

Additional brunch menu options include the Wagyū Steak & Eggs featuring Wagyū Carrara skirt steak, eggs, roasted grape tomatoes, smashed fingerling potatoes, and salsa verde; Prosciutto e Zeppole with 30-month-aged Prosciutto di Parma, whipped ricotta, balsamic, and tarragon huckleberry sauce; Tortellini with homemade tortellini braised lamb belly ragu, fresh ricotta, mint pesto, and Pecorino Pugliese; Toast di Fragole, a French toast with whipped mascarpone cheese, compressed strawberries in olive oil, thyme, Sicilian pistachio gelato, and Thai banana maple syrup; and plenty more.

The beverage menu offers a variety of brunch cocktails. From classic options such as the Mimosa or Bellini to others like the Morning Mambo created using vodka, Bagna Cauda, squid ink, and a spice salt rim for a burst of umami, there’s a drink for every palette. Indulge in one of the Spritz cocktails like the Hugo Spritz with Bombay Sapphire, Prosecco, St. Germain, mint, and soda or something a little more indulgent like the Ferrero Rocher, UMMO’s take on a classic espresso martini made using Licor 43 Chocolate, Frangelico, espresso, and nutmeg.

Additionally new to UMMO on weekdays with a special menu and live jazz. Monday - Thursday, a “Taste of UMMO” special menu offers Italian cuisine through a selected three-course meal. For $59, choose a Primo (appetizer), Secondo (main course), and Dolce (dessert . A few dishes guests can expect include Arancini, Carpaccio di Manzo, Costoletta e Carota, Pesce alla Griglia, Pavlova di Basilico e Fragola, and Pomodoro e Basilico.

Finally, UMMO offers on Thursdays for Live Jazz at UMMO’s Loft with soulful music from rotating live music & jazz and cocktails. The live music takes place from 6pm - 10pm in UMMO’s Loft.
