The Trotter Project is joining forces with Roots Pizza (2200 W Lawrence Ave) to create a program that partners their scholars with the Roots culinary team to collaborate and create special pizzas throughout the year. The proceeds from these pizzas will benefit The Trotter Project and its programs.
On Tuesday, May 14, from 6:30pm-8:30pm, the series will kick off with a special event that will bring together Chicago chefs, community partners, and the pizza-loving public. Guests will enjoy cocktails from Treaty Oak Distilling, bites from Roots Pizza, and the unveiling of the first scholar pizza from Nia Spencer. Inspired by Chef Trotter’s love of fresh vegetables, her pizza includes Korean BBQ sauce, shredded short rib, spinach, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese, and oregano seasoning.
