The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, on the Magnificent Mile has launched a calendar of events for the spring. As the season changes, the property is celebrating spring with the following activations:

Spring Afternoon Tea - Ongoing Throughout the Season 

During Spring Afternoon Tea service at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, guests can choose from sweet and savory confections by Executive Pastry Chef Toni Roberts. The menu will feature tea sandwiches, quiche, scones and an array of pastries including Lavender Lemon Macaron, Blueberry Parfait, Key Lime Tart, Pistachio Financier, and Dark Chocolate Gateau. The experience includes Ritz-Carlton teas, accompanied by the guest’s choice of a glass of champagne or non-alcoholic French Bloom Bubbles. 

Reservations are priced at $85 per person and can be purchased on Tock. Tea service is available at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through May 12. Special themes and dates include Mother’s Day on May 11 & 12 and The Kentucky Derby on May 4.

Live Jazz with Myles Hayes - Wednesdays (5-8:30 p.m.) 

Live performances by Chicago jazz vocalist Myles Hayes at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago’s hotel lobby this Spring. Starting April 3, the smooth sounds of jazz and handcrafted cocktails every Wednesday from 5 - 8:30 p.m.

Silver Oak Wine Dinner - April 23 (7 -10 p.m.) 

Silver Oak has partnered with The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago to offer a four-course dinner at Torali. Vintage wines from the Silver Oak Library Selection, produced at their Napa Valley and Alexander Valley vineyards, will be paired with dishes including Blackberry Lacquered Duck Breast, Braised Beef Cheeks and Banana Date Toffee Cake. 

On Tuesday, April 23, from 7-10 p.m., guests can hear insights from a Silver Oak guest speaker, savor culinary options and have the opportunity to sample and purchase. Reservations are priced at $200 per person and can be purchased on Tock.


Flight of Butterflies - May 20-21 

In celebration of nature, art and storytelling, The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago is partnering with the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and Chicago-based artist Nnenna Okore this spring for a city-wide outdoor exhibit that will feature 30 butterfly sculptures highlighting local artists’ relationships with nature. Each sculpture will be created in partnership with a range of local Chicago-based artists.

Standing tall at 6 feet with a wingspan of five feet and ten inches, the butterfly sculpture at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago created by Okore will be placed atop a steel base. The butterfly’s body will be made of wood, and its wings of aluminum. ChiLab Studio, a collaborative atelier in Chicago specializing in bespoke and specialty material projects, will bring Okore’s vision to life and fabricate the butterfly. The butterflies will be installed on May 20 and 21 by Terry Karpowicz Studio.
