A closer look: The Purple Pig to Open Second Location in Oak Brook

The Purple Pig will open a second location in Oak Brook on March 9, 2026. The restaurant will be located in Oak Brook Center and will occupy an approximately 11,700-square-foot space.

The Oak Brook location is owned by Marianna Bannos, Tom Shubalis, Chef Tony Mantuano, and Cathy Mantuano, with Kris Kotte serving as chief operating officer. The culinary team is led by Culinary Director Brian Motyka, Executive Chef Michael Elliott, and Executive Sous Chef Eryn Cisneros. The beverage program is directed by General Manager Jason Huffman, and the wine list is overseen by Aaron Frank and Cathy Mantuano.

The restaurant will include a main dining room and bar with seating for approximately 210 guests, along with a patio expected to open in May with seating for 60. Two private dining rooms will also be available. The project was developed in partnership with J. Rich Company, with DSI serving as contractor and DXU as architect.

The menu will focus on Mediterranean dishes influenced by Italy, Greece, and Spain, with an emphasis on shareable plates, vegetables, seafood, and meats. The kitchen will feature a charcoal-fired oven and hearth, and a dedicated pasta program will produce extruded and handmade pastas.

Adjacent to the dining room, a marketplace will offer prepared foods including pizza by the slice, gelato, and pastries, along with retail items and coffee service.

The beverage program will include wines from Italy and other regions, along with cocktails that incorporate spirits and aperitifs associated with Mediterranean drinking traditions. Offerings will include spritzes, Negronis, martinis, and a house Old Fashioned produced using a solera-style aging method. Non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options will also be available.
