A few weeks ago, a team member at The Press Room suffered serious physical trauma in a domestic violence incident. That same night, he was displaced from his home. To offset his medical bills and help secure housing, The Press Room will host an Underground Taqueria Pop-Up with all the fixings, plus cocktails, wine and beer.
The event is cash only. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the team member, who was hospitalized but is now recovering.
Executive Chef Jeff Williams’ menu for the pop-up will include: steak and pork tacos; pork and jalapeno tamales with salsa verde; chicharrones; elotes; chips and salsa; and churros. Most food items will be $4. Agave cocktails and sparkling wine will be $8.
Local businesses donating their products for the evening include No Fine Print, Whittingham Meats and Winebow.
