What to watch: The Peninsula Chicago Announces Afternoon Tea Collaboration with Jewelry House, Sidney Garber

This year, in celebration of its 25th anniversary in the Windy City, The Peninsula Hotel is partnering with Chicago jewelry house Sidney Garber, to launch a specialty “Spill the Tea” Afternoon Tea Experience, inspired by the house’s designs.

“This is the kind of experience that has defined The Peninsula Chicago for the past 25 years,” says Maria Zec, Regional Executive Vice President and Managing Director of The Peninsula Chicago, “It balances luxury with unique iconic pieces, and Sidney Garber is a perfect match for The Peninsula. We are so excited to partner with a house that cares about this city as much as we do.”

The limited-time menu features tea sandwiches, including classic cucumber, smoked salmon, country ham, and more, alongside light bites such as seasonal scones and a mushroom and spinach quiche. Afternoon Tea desserts highlight the kitchen’s inspiration through items from Sidney Garber’s collection, the sweet treats include pistachio crunch, blueberry cheesecake, strawberry peach mousse cake, chocolate obsession, and chocolate orange Battenberg cake.

The collaboration between The Peninsula Chicago and Sidney Garber stems from their shared commitment to philanthropy. Both have long championed Chicago’s community-driven initiatives, supporting charities that uplift local voices. A portion of the proceeds from the Spill the Tea Experience will be donated to Chicago Cares, a nonprofit organization that mobilizes volunteers to build a more equitable and connected Chicago.

“Beauty and generosity are inextricably linked. I am honored to be part of something that celebrates beauty and generosity to the community,” says Brooke Garber, Creative Director and Owner of Sidney Garber.
