The Getaway (4530 N Lincoln Ave), in Lincoln Square, is marking its one-year anniversary with a celebratory event on Friday, April 18, from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., which will include exclusive drink specials, complimentary sweet treats provided by Sweet Mandy B’s, and a special return of a cocktail.
The Getaway's Slaughtermelon cocktail will return to the menu for one night only.
“Seeing the incredible support from our guests and the neighborhood over the past year has been amazing. This anniversary celebration is our way of saying thank you and we are looking forward to raising a glass with everyone to kick off another great year,” said David Halpern, managing partner at Four Entertainment Group (4EG).
The party will feature $1 off all drinks all evening, and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., party-goers can choose happy hour specials, featuring $10 house cocktails, $8 wine, $6 drafts, $4 domestics, $8 non-alcoholic cocktails, $5 non-alcoholic bottles and cans. For guests who stick around, The Getaway’s Resident DJ, DJ Tigermilk, will hit the decks beginning at 9 p.m.
As a part of the celebration, the bar is bringing back its Slaughtermelon cocktail that was featured on the menu when they opened. The Getaway sold over 2,600 Slaughtermelon cocktails in the first six months of being open. The drink is made with 21 Seeds cucumber jalapeño tequila, Herradura agave, Cointreau, real watermelon syrup, lime juice, jalapeño concentrate, and is garnished with a watermelon candy gummy.
