The Fifty/50 Sports Bar (2047 W Division St. in Wicker Park), the flagship restaurant from The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group known for its chicken wings, invites heat-seekers to participate in a hot wing challenge in celebration of National Chicken Wing Day (July 29). From July 24 to July 31, The Fifty/50 Sports Bar is challenging Chicagoans and visitors to finish an entire flight of chicken wings doused in six different sauces that increase with heat.

Known for its chef-driven and scratch-made bar food, the first four sauces for the contest are signature sauces from The Fifty/50 Sports Bar: buffalo, spicy garlic, gochujang maple and Nashville hot. Pulling inspiration from “Hot Ones,” the YouTube talkshow where celebrity guests are interviewed while attempting to eat chicken wings brushed with varying Scoville levels of hot sauces, the wing flight will include "Da Bomb Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce" and "The Last Dab Apollo" - both of which are featured in the show.

“Chicagoans are always hungry for a challenge and looking for ways to test their taste buds,” said Cameron Usiak, chef de cuisine at The Fifty/50 Sports Bar. “Dedicating an entire week to our beloved wings and amping them up with next-level sauces is what The Fifty/50 is all about.”

In addition to bragging rights, participants who complete the entire flight of wings will get the chance to spin the “Wing Wheel’ where they can win prizes such as a $5 gift card for their next visit, a Malort shot and more. Participants will be required to sign waivers.
