The Ireland-born sisters, Amy and Clodagh Lawless, have announced that their Loop tavern, The Dearborn, will reopen March 10 for dinner, lunch and brunch — in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

“The holiday feels especially significant this year because it marks one year since the pandemic really hit Chicago and we closed our doors for the first time,” remarks Clodagh Lawless. “We’re feeling optimistic that we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and are looking forward to safely welcoming back our guests.”

On the reopening menu, Executive Chef Aaron Cuschieri hones in on Midwestern fare inspired by the seasons, always supporting local farmers. Dearborn dishes include Midwest Fried Chicken, buttermilk-marinated chicken in a maple mustard glaze; the Fish ‘n’ Chips that Cuschieri made (and won with) on Food Network show Beat Bobby Flay; a Dearborn Burger; mains including a Robata Grilled Salmon Steak, Fresh Herb Roasted Chicken and Roasted Rohan Duck Breast; and an assortment of Chicago tavern-style pizzas.

For weekend brunch, savory dishes will be offered such as Chorizo & Poblano Hash, Rabbit Poutine and Chicken Tinga Tostadas. Sweeter items include Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread, Dutch Apple Pancakes and a savory Pearl Sugar Waffle. For lunch, expect an additional offering of sandwiches including the Tale of Three Prosciuttos and a Grilled Salmon BLT.

Desserts by Pastry Chef Julianna Westgor include a Caramelized White Chocolate Carrot Cake, Chocolate & Peanut Butter Tart, Mini Strawberry-Rhubarb Hand Pie and Housemade ice cream sandwiches. At the bar, Beverage Director Sarah Clark offers a variety of gin drinks using DB Gin, a special house gin made in collaboration with North Shore Distillery.

For two Ireland-born sisters, the reopening comes in time for their celebrated holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, offering a way to safely celebrate in their dining room. Besides Irish dishes omnipresent on the menu like the Fish & Chips and Corned Beef Reuben, The Dearborn offers specials such as Seafood Chowder, Beef & Lamb Shepherd’s Pie and a Strawberry & Crème Roulade cake.

Additionally, The Dearborn is partnering with Chicago bakery, Vanille Patisserie, for those who can’t make it to the Loop but still want to celebrate with rish fare. Throughout St. Patrick's week, order a special three-course family meal featuring the Seafood Chowder, Shepherd's Pie and a special Irish Apple Cake with Shamrock Cookies from Vanille for dessert. Available through TOCK from March 10 to 17 for pick-up at Vanille’s Lincoln Park location or at The Dearborn.

Hours at the Dearborn are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Takeout is available via GrubHub and Ritual.

The Dearborn is located at 145 N. Dearborn St., on the corner of Dearborn and Randolph streets in Chicago’s downtown theatre district. New safety features include an Ionization air filtration system and hospital grade filters that capture twice as much air pollutants than regular grade filters.
