Key facts: Temporis Holding One-Night-Only Cocktail Party to Celebrate Two Years
To mark the second anniversary of Temporis (933 N Ashland Ave), Executive Chef Donald Young and Proprietor Sam Plotnick will transform the 20-seat dining room of their Michelin-starred restaurant into a cocktail party for one night.
From 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, guests will enjoy a tasting of Temporis, past and present, in a sit-where-you-like setting. Passed canapes will riff on now-signature courses, such as A5 Miyazaki Wagyu with caramelized apple puree, Mangalica ham-wrapped donuts with dill and yogurt and escargot with compressed apple and brioche hollandaise. Altogether new small bites will include salmon with caviar and fermented matsutake crème fraîche.
Similarly, beverages to be served from the open bar are a greatest-hits gastronomic assortment that includes two mainstays of the wine pairing, 2017 Eladio Piñeiro Rias Baixas, a Spanish albariño, and NV Champagne Thienot Champagne Brut. Featured cocktails include a pair of classics—the Old Fashioned and the Manhattan—as well as the Chicago Franken Spritz, the restaurant’s most popular cocktail created around the much-maligned and beloved Chicago spirit, Malort.
