The 3,164 square foot storefront will be able to accommodate 38 in-store diners with additional outdoor seating for 20 during the warmer months. Given its proximity to the University of Chicago’s campus, this location boasts a variety of seating options that are suited for both independent or collaborative work. sweetgreen has also partnered with local Chicago-based artist Chad Kouri to create custom artwork for the restaurant that is inspired by the seasonality of sweetgreen’s menu.
For every meal sold on opening day, sweetgreen will donate a meal to its local impact partner, Lakeview Pantry, one of Chicago’s largest and longest-operating food pantries that meets the basic nutritional needs of hungry neighbors.
