Limited Time Only Indian Mexican Bucktown

Explained: Street Food Meets the Chef’s Counter at Mirra's New Seven-Course Chef’s Counter Experience

At Mirra in Bucktown, Chefs Rishi Kumar and Zubair Mohajir are introducing a limited-time tasting-menu format with “Street Style,” a new seven-course Chef’s Counter experience inspired by the markets, food stalls and roadside dishes of India and Mexico.

Available now through August 7, the experience explores the natural connections between Indian and Mexican ingredients, techniques and street-food traditions. Rather than approaching the two cuisines as conventional fusion, the chefs transform nostalgic dishes into contemporary compositions while preserving the flavors and cultural stories behind them.

Menu highlights include:

  • Elote Vada A play on chaat and antojitos.
  • Oysters with Jaljeera Raspado A cooling opening bite rooted in spice and acidity.
  • Pambazo Bhaji Guajillo-toasted brioche with peas, cauliflower, potato and queso cincho.
  • Birria Momo Dumplings Braised beef with birria consommé and Szechuan peppercorn salsa macha.
  • Ora King Salmon Veracruz-Vindaloo Tomato-vindaloo masala with caper leaves, jalapeños, almonds and rose-Arbol compressed raisins.
  • Lamb Duo Al pastor kebab and spice-crusted loin with chayote poriyal and pasilla-nihari jus.
  • Churro Gulab Jamun A syrup-soaked churro finished with candied ginger.

Guests may also add an optional beverage pairing from David Mor and the Mirra bar team, designed to complement the spices, acidity and textures of each course. The seven-course experience is available June 17 through August 7 and is priced at $150 per person. Reservations are available through OpenTable: https://www.opentable.com/r/mirra-chicago
