Restaurateur Amy Morton reopens in the city of lights. On Friday, December 10, downtown Aurora welcomes back Stolp Island Social. Adjacent to the Paramount Theatre, this seasonal kitchen and steakhouse offers an option for both pre-and post-show patrons and those living in the area. Located along the Fox River in one of Aurora's historic districts.

Open for only three months before the pandemic started, Owner Amy Morton had to close like so many other businesses.

“My team and I are honored to be one of the many amazing local businesses who can call downtown Aurora home,” says Morton. “We can’t wait to serve the community once again!”

Stolp Island Social looks and feels just like it did when it opened (1920s Aurora meets Coco Chanel today) and Morton welcomes new Chef de Cuisine John Thurmond, an Aurora local who hails from such Michelin-starred kitchens as Rubicon (San Francisco), Faviken (Sweden) and Alinea (Chicago).

Stolp Island Social is located at 5 East Galena Blvd, Aurora, Illinois, 60506. Hours of operation are Thursday (4 - 9 pm; Bar & Bites until 10:30 pm), Friday & Saturday (4 - 9:30 pm; Bites until 11 pm and Bar until 12 am) and Sunday (3 - 8 pm; Bar & Bites until 9 pm). Closed Monday - Wednesday.
