Stefani Restaurant Group has announced that Tavern on Rush will reopen its doors this summer on the ground and second floor of Thompson Chicago, at 1015 N. Rush Street. The modern steakhouse and bar will carry on its 25-year legacy in the Gold Coast right across from its original location.

In partnership with Oxford Capital Group, LLC and the ownership group of Thompson Chicago, this reimagined Tavern on Rush aims to bring the nostalgia with a modernized and fresh approach. The two-level, 16,000 square feet space includes a main dining room, cocktail lounge, bar, outdoor patio and multiple rooms for private events. The decor will provide a modernized and refined look while staying true to the ambiance of the former space for nearly 25 years.

“Community is and always will be at the heart of Tavern on Rush. As this short-term retirement draws to a close, we look forward to opening our doors once again to those who have loved us for the last 25 years, and those who have yet to meet us,” said owner Phil Stefani.

Tavern on Rush will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and brunch on the weekends, with the menu featuring USDA, prime-aged steaks and chops, fresh seafood and more. Guests can also choose from a beverage program featuring a curated a wine list and a cocktail menu. Tavern on Rush will provide room service for the hotel and catering for the banquets on the third and fourth floors.

Stefani Restaurant Group has plans to bring back many of the former staff members from the original location, including maître d’, Benny Nadzaku, who served as one of the faces of (the former) Tavern on Rush for its entirety and has been with the Stefani Restaurant Group for over 40 years.
