When a young, male cat named Stan was recently admitted to the Tree House Humane Society along with four unrelated kittens, Stan’s Donuts & Coffee was quick to make room for another Stan on the Chicago scene. In order to help the kittens get adopted and in support of Tree House Human Society, Stan’s Donuts & Coffee will be giving away a dozen free donuts with the adoption of each kitten.

Tree House frequently pulls cats from the city shelter to assist with overcrowding issues, which is where they found Stan. Tree House and other shelters see vast numbers of kittens coming in with mothers during the summer season, but it is rare to find a group of kittens with a male cat. All five cats arrived at Tree House in the same carrier, and Tree House was surprised by the level of caring Stan showed to the kittens, a rarity for a male cat, and immediately put up a video of the adorable snuggles on YouTube

Tree House’s Shelter Shift Lead Grace Ryan decided to name the kittens after donuts. When Tree House reached out to Stan’s Donuts to see if they’d be interested in supporting the adoptions, they were all for it.

"We were excited to be able to help support the adoption of these kittens,” said Stan’s Donuts. “The aim of our business is to bring a smile to peoples' faces every day, so we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the adoption of these kittens than with some of our favorite donuts."

The cats are all available for adoption, and real time updates on their adoption can be found on the Tree House website.
