Split-Rail's Chef Zoe Schor teams up with Devin Kidner of Chicago’s own Hollow Leg to offer a cocktail class and dinner at the West Town restaurant.

Kidner has been teaching cocktail classes to Chicagoans for the past few years, utilizing her own bitters and tinctures for creative drinks. For this event with Split-Rail, Kidner will teach guests the art and science of how to form a cocktail and will leave them to create four unique drinks on their own – no recipe needed.

Following the cocktail class, guests are served a family style dinner from Chef Zoe Schor. Split-Rail is considered one of Chicago's 50 best restaurants! Classes are offered on August 9 and 16 beginning at 6:00 p.m., and tickets are $100 (includes tax and tip).

More about the Cocktail Clas :

Here's what's up: This year, you've decided to amp up your liquor cabinet and finally impress friends with a signature cocktail you've created.

There's only one problem, which is you have no idea what you're doing.

In this hands-on class, you'll be playing around with four different liquors (whiskey, tequila, gin, and vodka) and a bunch of hand-crafted mixers and bitters to create something delicious. We'll walk you through understanding the art + science of mixology in its most basic form: inlcuding taste, exploring flavour pairings, dilution, temperature, mixing, and serving. By the end of class, you'll have the liquid confidence to go forth with Julia Child-like conviction and be an at-home mixologist.
