American Gastro Pub The Loop

This St. Patrick's Day, celebrate at The Gage (24 S. Michigan Ave.), where Owners Billy and Billy Lawless welcome Chicago's Irish community – and those who are just "Irish for the Day" – on one of the city's favorite holidays. Two generations of the Lawless family are behind the festive atmosphere at The Gage; they regularly play host to Irish diplomats and have even previously welcomed the President of Ireland on this cheerful day. All are invited to enjoy a lineup of authentic menu specials, live music, and good craic.

Located just blocks from the Chicago River, carousers can visit the iconic Michigan Avenue restaurant after watching the traditional river dyeing and parade. Diners will savor Irish fare, washed down with a selection of traditional Irish beers, whiskeys, and specialty cocktails. Available during lunch and dinner service, The Gage's St. Patrick's Day menu is available from Friday, March 13 through Tuesday, March 17. In addition to the ever-popular Fish & Chips, a signature on The Gage's menu, highlights include:

Bangers and Mash
Guinness mustard, onion jam ($18)

House-made Corned Beef
Braised cabbage, new potato, horseradish crème fraîche ($20)

Corned Beef Sandwich
Pickled cabbage slaw, Guinness soaked swiss, remoulade ($14)
Live Irish music, featuring the Fiddling Finnegans, will entertain from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. to
8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Guests can pull up a stool at the lively bar and sip on a perfect pint of Guinness and other specialty beers including Harp, Smithwicks, Murphy's, and Boulevard Irish Ale. The Gage's beverage expert Clint Rogers will be serving up a specialty St. Patrick's Day-themed cocktail – Jenny's Blade (inspired by the character Jenny Everdeane in the movie Gangs of New York), which includes green tea-infused Jameson Irish Whiskey, Rhine Hall Apple Brandy, galangal, lime and soda ($12), and Wine Director Jon McDaniel encourages wine-lovers to sip on Marques de Irun 2012 "Verde"jo ($11).

Reservations are highly recommended. Please call (312) 372-4243 or visit www.thegagechicago.com.
