As part of their Now Serving collaboration series, Shake Shack’s culinary team has joined forces with Sarah Grueneberg, chef and owner of Monteverde, to create a limited edition menu item. The Monteverde Chicken Parm will be available in limited quantities, for one day only, on Thursday, June 17 at Chicago’s River North Shake Shack location at 66 East Ohio Street. Proceeds from the sandwich will be donated directly to Inspiration Kitchens, a Chicago organization that provides free food service training for homeless and low-income individuals.
“I love visiting Sarah anytime I’m in Chicago and am thrilled to partner with her on the Spicy Chicken Parm," said Mark Rosati, Culinary Director of Shake Shack. “The Monteverde spicy tomato sauce paired with J.P. Graziano’s giardiniera embodies everything I’ve come to love about Chicago. We are also so proud to support the important work that Inspiration Kitchens is doing to battle homelessness."
The Monteverde Chicken Parm features a crispy, hand-breaded Shake Shack chicken breast topped with spicy tomato sauce from Sarah’s Italian restaurant, Monteverde; sliced buffalo mozzarella; fresh basil; giardiniera from Chicago deli, J.P. Graziano’s; buttermilk mayo; and shredded greens on a toasted Martin’s potato roll. Priced at $8.99, the sandwich will be available for purchase in-store or for delivery and pickup in the River North area via the Shack app.
“Shake Shack has always been our go to spot for a great burger and shake - in fact, we often order it for staff birthdays - and I’m so excited to partner with them to create the Monteverde Chicken Parm.
