Explained: Seoul Taco Celebrates 15 Years With $1.50 Tacos - Including A Taco Honoring Its First Employee - As A Yearlong Thank You To Guests
Seoul Taco - the Korean-Mexican fusion concept founded by Chef David Choi - is celebrating its 15th Anniversary with two special promotions designed to thank the guests and team members.
Throughout 2026, all tacos — any taco, any protein, dine-in only — will be available for just $1.50 every Tuesday at the Seoul Taco Chicago locations in River North and Lakeview.
Additionally, Jack's Crispy Beef Taco - named after Seoul Taco's first employee Jack Fechter - will be available for just $1.50 every day of the week throughout 2026 in River North and Lakeview.
Guests can choose from Seoul Taco's signature proteins (Bulgogi Steak, Chicken, Spicy Pork, and Tofu) for its $1.50 in-store “Taco Tuesday” promotion. (Chicken, Spicy Pork, and Tofu tacos are regularly priced at $4 each and Bulgogi Steak tacos are regularly priced at $5.50 each)
Guests can also customize their tacos in one of two styles. The signature "Seoul Taco Style” that was created by founder Chef David Choi features Korean salad mix, green onions, Seoul Sauce, crushed sesame seeds, and a wedge of lime. Alternatively, guests can order their tacos "Street Style" - a traditional Mexican-inspired preparation - topped with white onion, cilantro, and salsa verde.
Jack's Crispy Beef Taco, named after Jack Fechter - Seoul Taco's very first employee who remains with the company 15 years later - features seasoned beef and beans, American cheese, lettuce, and Tapatío in a crispy shell.
"We named it after Jack, but anyone who grew up on the West Coast will probably catch the joke," Choi said with a laugh. "It's our tribute to one of the great late-night tacos of all time. We just gave it the Seoul Taco treatment."
In addition to the namesake and signature tacos, early guest favorites include the signature Gogi Bowls, K BBQ Quesadillas, and Burritos that helped define the brand from its earliest days.
As Seoul Taco continues to evolve, the menu has expanded to include shareables and new offerings such as Korean Cheesy Corn Elote Quesadillas, Wagyu Truffle Mandu, and Cheesy Corn Elote Bites.
The 15th Anniversary specials are available at two of its Chicago Seoul Taco restaurants in River North and Lakeview.
