Sangria Smackdown at Mercat a la Planxa, Feb 20

South Loop Spanish restaurant Mercat a la Planxa kicks off their quarterly cocktail competition series with their Sangria Smackdown on Wednesday, February 20. The complimentary event brings together local cocktail makers, including Bar Biscay’s Neal Neumann, Community Tavern’s Rachel Miller, and Monnie Burke’s Lance Bowman to compete against each other as well as Mercat’s own Beverage Baron Kai Wilson. Each bartender will craft their take on a white and red sangria using a variety of ingredients and flavors. The competition will be judged and there will also be a People’s Choice Award with votes from guests.
