What to watch: Roots Pizza Brings Back Chef Series Specialty Pizzas, New Lineup Created with Chefs Sarah Grueneberg, Doug Psaltis and Brian Jupiter

Roots Pizza relaunched its Chef Series for the first time since the pandemic – a collaboration with local chefs to create specialty pizzas that will be available for a limited time only. 

The new Chef Series lineup features three chefs in Chicago: Sarah Grueneberg of Monteverde, Doug Psaltis of Andros Taverna and Brian Jupiter of Ina Mae Tavern. 

Sarah Grueneberg (Monteverde): Big Ragu Pizza -  inspired by the “Ragù Alla Napoletana” shared plate at her West Loop restaurant

  • Tomato Braised Pork Shoulder, Meatballs, Sausage, Calabrian Peppers, Stracchino & Mozzarella Cheese, Pesto

Doug Psaltis (Andros Taverna): Spanakopita Pizza - inspired by the traditional Greek Spinach Pie served at his Logan Square restaurant

  • Parmesan Cheese Sauce, Spinach, Olive Mix, Feta & Mozzarella Cheese, Dill, Pepperoncini, Green Onions, Crispy Phyllo, Greek Ranch

Brian Jupiter (Ina Mae Tavern): Cajun Gator Pizza - a nod to his Southern roots and New Orleans upbringing

  • Alligator Sausage, Blackened Shrimp, Spinach, Red Onion, Pepperoncini, Mozzarella Cheese, Chili Flake
