Context and background: ROOF on theWit Uncorks Pop Sundays
ROOF on theWit, situated on the 27th floor of theWit Hotel at 201 N. State Street, hosts a weekly Sunday rooftop champagne party. “POP” Sundays run from 4 p.m. through 12 a.m. each week, and offer exclusive champagne flights, light bites, an art gallery, and live beats.
Champagne Flights are offered throughout the day for $50 each, featuring a fresh Moët Rosé Split, Moët & Chandon Nectar Imperial and Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. A Tiered Brunch Tower is available for an additional $65, and features Executive Chef Nathan Sears’ selections including cured meats, house-made jams, and seasonal toppings for freshly made croissants, paired with home-made macarons courtesy of Executive Pastry Chef Toni Roberts.
Guests can pair their bubbly with live beats from theWit’s Disco House DJ, with music running from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ROOF ontheWit’s gallery is also a part of the experience, and is currently housing a POP Art Series at The Gallery. These designs draw inspiration from the works of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, making references to pop culture and Chicago icons, including Chance the Rapper, Lori Lightfoot, Rachel Brosnahan and Jonathon Toews, to name a few.
ROOF’s digital art in “The Gallery” combines contemporary art and video technology to create a captivating and dynamic experience for all to enjoy. Nine LED screens on the Artisan Wall and one 160” LED screen behind the bar display a curated library of digital art transforming the space into an immersive living narrative. With a vast array of different art scenes, ROOF’s digital gallery will undergo a metamorphosis each day as ROOF transitions from a day to nightlife experience.
