Chef Rick Bayless has announced his latest restaurant endeavor. Leña Brava, set to open in the coming months, will bring Baja California-inspired cuisine to booming Randolph Street in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood.

Chef Bayless announced the news in an inspiring Facebook post, spurring a flurry of social media activity.

"The kitchen is 100% wood-fired (not even a gas hook-up)"

While the bar at Leña Brava will focus on the Oaxaca region mezcal, the wine list will feature Valle de Guadalupe-based wines.

Hopefully, when you taste our Baja-inspired menu with gorgeous yellowtail and opah and sea urchin and abalone from those fertile Baja waters, and you see that the kitchen is 100% wood-fired (not even a gas hook-up), and you savor the terroir-driven wines from the Valle de Guadalupe, well, you may understand why I love Baja so much.
