Food Holiday Bar

Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel is celebrating National Root Beer Float Day on Monday, August 6th by giving back with a variety of activations benefitting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. With a modern take on the original root beer float stand on the iconic corner of State and Wacker, this property will be putting a Chicago spin on this special day by providing Windy City residents and visitors alike with a variety of Goose Island sodas including root beer, orange soda, and cream soda. For the perfect pairing, the hotel has partnered with Chicago favorite Do-Rite Donuts to sell their menu items for a limited time that week.

For an adults-only twist on the childhood favorite, Staytion Market & Bar, located inside of the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, will be serving up a boozy version of the root beer float made with local Chicago spirits and frozen liquid nitrogen. This delightful frozen “float” will be available on Monday, August 6th and Thursday, August 9th from 11am to 1pm and 4pm to 6pm for $11. All proceeds from these sales will go to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Root Beer Float Day serves as a nod to Marriott International’s heritage with the founder of Marriott, J. Willard Marriott, and his wife, Alice, having opened a root beer float stand in the early 1900s. Over the last 35 years, events like this have aided Marriott International in showing their support for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by raising over $120,000,000 for this charitable organization.
