A Closer Look

Tuman’s Tap & Grill taps a rare keg of unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 19. This keg is being express-shipped from Plzeň, Czech Republic, and will be less than two weeks old at the time of tapping. The brewery only ships about 30 of these barrels to Chicago annually, and the super-fresh unfiltered and unpasteurized pilsner will on par with beer served in the Czech Republic. Pilsner Urquell has been brewing the golden lager, which has a hint of caramel sweetness and a fragrant balanced hop bitterness, with the same recipe since 1842. The rare pilsner will be served in a takeaway souvenir mug ($8, limit one mug per person, while supplies last).
