A new culinary concept is coming to the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago this summer that will transform the downtown hotel’s bilevel restaurant space.

Opening in the space that now houses Filini restaurant, FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar will be a local adaptation of the farm-focused FireLake restaurants in the Minneapolis-area Radisson Blu hotels. The restaurant will look to a newly installed rotisserie and smoker for inspiration while tapping into the surrounding bounty of regional ingredients.

After nine years of serving modern Italian-inspired cuisine, Filini will close its lower level on Sunday, Feb. 16 so that the Radisson Blu can prepare for the culinary makeover.

Throughout the renovation, guests will be able to order the hotel’s full range of dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Upper Filini, the dining room lofted just above the lobby, will offer curated versions of Filini’s menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner daily, with additional seating in the lobby. The Fireside Lobby’s all-day menu and bar service will also be available during the renovation, and Blu Bar and Sushi Bar will both offer their regular menus and hours.

“While Filini has been a beloved dining option for many downtown residents and visitors, we’re excited to bring a unique concept to the neighborhood and Chicago’s restaurant community,” said Marina Braica, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Radisson Blu Aqua. “Our team has worked hard to ensure that our guests’ dining experience will remain at the highest level and quality, and we’re glad that everyone will be able to enjoy a few final months of great food from Filini while FireLake comes to fruition.”
