Prepare to Paella! Mercat a la Planxa Hosts 3rd Annual Paella Cook Off

Chefs, prepare those paella pans! Chef Jose Garces again challenges local chefs and culinary crusaders to prepare the perfect paella at the 3rd Annual Paella Cook-Off at Mercat a la Planxa on Thursday, August 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. The contest, an ancillary event produced in conjunction with Bon Appétit presents Chicago Gourmet, has become both an industry and crowd favorite over the years. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (IRAEF), a non-profit organization dedicated to building the future of Illinois' hospitality workforce.
