Prasino, the restaurant brand known for more than 15 years of serving fresh, sustainable cuisine inspired by Greek hospitality, announces the opening of its newest location at 33 S. Wabash Avenue in the heart of Chicago's Loop on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, marking the next chapter in the brand's evolution as Prasino — your everyday café.
The approximately 3,300-square-foot café introduces a modern all-day destination designed for today's lifestyle, offering breakfast, lunch, handcrafted coffee, smoothies, Greek yogurt, salads, bowls, wraps and sandwiches.
The Wabash opening also represents the first step in Prasino's broader Chicago growth strategy. The company plans to open a neighborhood café at 216 N. Aberdeen St. in the West Loop later this summer, followed by a Riverwalk location on the terrace level overlooking the Chicago River in 2027.
"Prasino has always stood for fresh food, sustainability and genuine hospitality," said Ted Maglaris "We're building on that foundation with a café concept designed to become part of people's everyday lives. Whether someone is grabbing coffee before work, meeting a colleague for lunch, stopping in after the gym or picking up catering for the office, we want Prasino to be their neighborhood café."
The name Prasino, which means "green" in Greek, continues to reflect the brand's commitment to sourced ingredients and wholesome food. The new café concept builds on that heritage while meeting growing consumer demand for convenient, better-for-you dining options available throughout the day.
Guests at the new Wabash location can enjoy:
Handcrafted coffee, espresso drinks and specialty beverages
Fresh smoothies, matcha and wellness-focused drinks
Signature Greek yogurt creations
Breakfast sandwiches, bowls and grab-and-go options
Mediterranean-inspired salads, grain bowls, wraps and sandwiches
Catering, online ordering and convenient takeout
Located in Chicago's central business district, the Wabash café is positioned to serve office workers, students, commuters, visitors and downtown residents, with ample seating and an efficient layout designed to accommodate both dine-in guests and grab-and-go traffic.
Following the downtown opening, Prasino will continue expanding with a neighborhood-focused café in the West Loop. The approximately 2,000-square-foot Aberdeen location will serve residents, nearby offices and the area's growing fitness and lifestyle community, reinforcing the brand's vision of becoming a daily destination for breakfast, coffee, lunch and catering.
The company's third planned Chicago café, scheduled to open in 2027, will further establish Prasino's presence downtown with a highly visible Riverwalk location serving residents, visitors, office tenants and tourists.
Together, the three locations represent a deliberate strategy to demonstrate the versatility of the Prasino concept across distinct Chicago neighborhoods while laying the foundation for future expansion.
