Prasino will open its newest location on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 33 S. Wabash Ave., introducing a new café concept that marks the next phase of the brand's expansion in Chicago.
The approximately 3,300-square-foot location shifts the longtime restaurant brand toward an all-day café model focused on breakfast, lunch, coffee and grab-and-go offerings. Operating under the tagline "your everyday café," the concept offers a menu centered on handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks, smoothies, matcha and wellness beverages, Greek yogurt, breakfast sandwiches and bowls, Mediterranean-inspired salads, grain bowls, wraps, sandwiches, and catering.
Founded more than 15 years ago, Prasino offers sustainably sourced cuisine influenced by Greek hospitality. The company's new café format is designed to serve guests throughout the day, with an emphasis on convenience for commuters, office workers, students, downtown residents and visitors.
"Prasino has always stood for fresh food, sustainability and genuine hospitality," said Ted Maglaris. "We're building on that foundation with a café concept designed to become part of people's everyday lives. Whether someone is grabbing coffee before work, meeting a colleague for lunch, stopping in after the gym or picking up catering for the office, we want Prasino to be their neighborhood café."
The name Prasino, which means "green" in Greek, continues to reflect the brand's focus on fresh ingredients and wholesome food while expanding into a format designed for everyday dining.
The Loop café features ample seating and a layout designed to accommodate both dine-in guests and grab-and-go service, along with online ordering and catering.
The Wabash opening is the first step in a broader Chicago expansion. Later this summer, Prasino plans to open a neighborhood café at 216 N. Aberdeen St. in the West Loop, serving nearby residents, offices and the area's growing fitness community. A third location overlooking the Chicago River is planned for 2027, when the brand expects to open a café on the terrace level of the Riverwalk.
