Prairie Grass Cafe Invites You to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day has always called for a certain kind of generosity at the table — abundant food, unhurried time, and the feeling that someone has gone to considerable effort on your behalf. At Prairie Grass Cafe ( 601 Skokie Blvd, Northbrook, I, (847) 205-4433} in Northbrook, Chefs Sarah Stegner and George Bumbaris deliver exactly that, and then some.

On Sunday, May 10th, the beloved North Shore restaurant’s kitchen will transform into a showcase of the season: a sweeping buffet brunch layered with spring produce, smoked salmon, made-to-order omelets and crêpes, and a dessert spread. By evening, the dining room will pivot to a dinner service featuring Prairie Grass Cafe’s regular menu alongside spring specials that reflect their longstanding relationships with the regional farms and producers whose harvests define every plate she sends out.

"Mother's Day is such a special day to gather with family and friends and truly honor the mothers in your life — over a delicious meal and meaningful conversation. That's what we're here for. We want every table to feel celebrated," said Stegner.

For those who prefer to celebrate at home, Prairie Grass Cafe is also offering a curated Mother’s Day takeout menu — featuring the restaurant’s Pistachio-Breadcrumb Crusted Wild Alaskan Halibut, a spring Asparagus Soup, and the crowd-pleasing Mom’s Strawberry Cream Square — available for pre-order through Thursday, May 7th.

RESERVATION DETAILS

Reservations for brunch: Call (847) 205-4433. Once your reservation is set, a table will be held exclusively for your party. Prairie Grass Cafe requires 72 hours’ advance notice for holiday cancellations; failure to cancel within that window may result in a $20 per-person cancellation fee.

Make a reservation for 8 or more guests and receive a $100 gift certificate valid for 6 months. (Not valid for use on Mother’s Day.)
