Chicago Ave., will celebrate the Chicago legend’s 87th birthday by hosting a Mike Ditka Lookalike Contest during its Bears vs. Falcons watch party.
The rules are simple: come dressed as Ditka, hang out with the other Ditkas, and let the crowd decide who best captures the unmistakable look. Contestants are asked to arrive between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and must be at Pippin’s by noon kickoff to participate. No registration is required. They’ll spend the first half mingling with fellow contestants and Bears fans while watching the Bears take on Atlanta. At halftime, the room will decide the winner through audience participation and applause. The winning Ditka will receive a pitcher of beer, a cigar, bragging rights, and other surprises.
The birthday celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. with $3 domestic drafts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and $10 build-your-own Bloody Mikes. Fans can also fuel up with the Pippin’s Platter, featuring blackened steak bites, sliders, cheese curds, fries and jumbo wings served with housemade sauces, alongside Pippin’s full food and drink menu. Pippin’s will get into the spirit with Ditka-themed decorations throughout the bar, including photos celebrating his career and plenty of opportunities for fans and contestants to embrace the look.
