Pippin’s Tavern will mark Mike Ditka’s 87th birthday with a lookalike contest during its Bears vs. Falcons watch party on Sunday, Oct. 18. The event begins at 11 a.m. at the Streeterville bar, 39 E. Chicago Ave., with contestants encouraged to recreate Ditka’s signature mustache, aviator sunglasses and sweater-vest look.
Contestants can arrive between 11 a.m. and noon, with no advance registration required. Participants will watch the first half of the game and mingle with other contestants before the winner is selected at halftime through audience applause. The winner will receive a pitcher of beer, a cigar and additional prizes.
The watch party will also feature $3 domestic drafts and $10 build-your-own Bloody Mikes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food options include the Pippin’s Platter with blackened steak bites, sliders, cheese curds, fries and jumbo wings with housemade sauces, along with the bar’s regular food and drink menu.
Pippin’s will add Ditka-themed decorations and photographs from his career throughout the bar for the event. The Bears-Falcons game kicks off at noon, and contestants must arrive by kickoff to participate in the halftime contest.
