Now Open Lincoln Park

First Look

One of Lincoln Park’s most visible corners is getting a major revitalization, with a 5,200-square-foot market, café, and 80-person outdoor courtyard opening at Clark and Fullerton, just a short walk from both Lincoln Park Zoo and the park itself. The project, located at 444 W. Fullerton Pkwy (best known as the longtime location of Emilio’s Tapas), comes from Piccadilly Market, the European-style neighborhood market that opened in Lincoln Square in 2025. The new concept will become an expanded version of the original shoppe, as well as the brand’s flagship location.

The centerpiece of the new space is its outdoor courtyard, dubbed Piccadilly Square, which is designed to be a dedicated gathering space modeled after the public squares found throughout Europe, where sitting outside with a coffee or a drink is simply part of the everyday culture. Strung with lights overhead and filled with tables, the courtyard will host acoustic music and a dedicated outdoor bar serving wine, spritzes, beer and cider, with a full coffee program, bar and lounge available upstairs inside the market. Floor-to-ceiling doors will open the front of the space to a balcony directly above the sidewalk, where a ledge lined with umbrellas gives guests a front-row seat to the corner’s foot traffic below, echoing the café culture that inspired the concept.

Inside, the market will bring some of Chicago’s food and beverage names directly to the neighborhood, including a coffee partnership with Metric Coffee, as well as select offerings from local favorites Backlot Coffee and Hexe Coffee Co. You can also find brands that typically require a trip across the city to find, all under one roof including Pretty Cool Ice Cream, Rare Tea Cellar, Publican Quality Bread, Katherine Anne Confections, Feed Your Head Vegan and more, along with a rotating series of pop-ups, tastings, classes and offerings from artisans, bakers and purveyors in Chicago and beyond. The market will also feature hard-to-find European grocery imports, including Zotter Chocolate, Burt’s Chips and a rotating selection of snacks, candies, and condiments.

The wine program will feature a sommelier-curated wine shop, with a select range of bottles available for purchase to enjoy at home or in the market. Piccadilly Market will also offer a monthly wine club and weekly wine tastings, creating opportunities for guests to discover new producers, regions and styles in a casual neighborhood setting.

Leading the food program at the all-day café and is Chef Mark Mendez, the former chef and owner of Vera, the longtime Spanish wine bar and restaurant in the West Loop. Mendez’s menu will include homemade English muffins and breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold sandwiches (“Toasties” and “Picca-Delis,” respectively), house-made focaccia, Roman-style pizza, and a rotating cheese and charcuterie program built for sharing. The cheese and charcuterie selections will also be available for retail purchase in the market. The bar program will run on eight draft lines, split between three wines on tap (a house red, white and bubbles) and five beer and cider selections, including Northman Cider, Stiegl and a rotating cast of other local and imported picks. Alongside a classic cocktail program, the bar will offer a dedicated coffee cocktail menu built with Metric Coffee, plus a selection of canned beer, cider and adult non-alcoholic options. Drinks can be enjoyed within the bar, lounge, work-from-parlour, or outdoor courtyard.

“Piccadilly Market is essentially the evolution of the corner store from my childhood,” said Aaron Zacharias, owner of Piccadilly Market and the hospitality group behind it. Zacharias has spent his career building neighborhood gathering spaces across Chicago, from The Bar on Buena, The Northman Beer & Cider Garden on the Riverwalk to Piccadilly Market’s original Lincoln Square location. “We’re hoping to bring everything you love together under one roof to create a third space that engages the community in so many new and exciting ways that I could only have dreamed of when I was younger. Connecting artisans to the neighborhood is the ethos of all things Piccadilly. There’s so much talent in the world, and I find the discovery aspect of their creations to be extremely fulfilling. Our goal is to make that a fun experience that can be touched and tasted in a neighborhood setting.”
