Lunch Japanese Korean West Loop

At a glance: Perilla Fare’s K-BBQ Spicy Pork Shoulder Joins TenGoku Bento & Co Lunch Series

Where Japanese izakaya culture meets Korean steakhouse traditions, you'll find TenGoku Aburiya's latest Bento & Co. collaboration, a limited-edition lunch box inspired by the flavors of summer grilling. HIS Hospitality welcomes Chef Andrew Lim of Perilla Fare.

For two weeks only, Chef Lim is teaming up with TenGoku’s Chef Danny Rodriguez to bring the spirit of K-BBQ to TenGoku's lunch menu with the Spicy Pork Dosirak Bento. The box features tender pork shoulder topped with scallions, sesame seeds and sesame oil, paired with broccoli, dongeurangddang (a Korean pan-fried meat and vegetable patty) and japchae, a stir-fried glass noodle dish with vegetables and garlic. Chef Rodriguez rounds out the meal with housemade dumplings, oi muchim cucumber salad, miso soup, and steamed rice.

The Perilla Fare Bento & Co. box is priced at just $20 and will be available for dine-in or takeout during weekday lunch hours (11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.) at TenGoku from Tuesday, June 16, through Friday, June 26. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository, helping support efforts to combat food insecurity and provide meals to those in need.
