At a glance: Soak Up the Sun During Patio and Rooftop Season 2026

Aire Rooftop Bar - Chicago Loop

Aire, the rooftop bar situated atop the Hyatt Centric Loop Chicago, returns this summer with new daily specials, DJ Sunset Sessions, Concerts Under the Stars, and more. Opening Monday, May 11th, Aire will kick off Summer 2026 with new additions to the menu including a collaboration with Dovetail Brewery. Guests can look forward to weekly specials and a lineup of live music experiences.

On select Friday nights, Aire will welcome visitors to enjoy Sunset Sessions, featuring a live DJ spinning house music. The rooftop will host the Concert Under the Stars series with performances every Sunday evening. This series showcases tribute performances, celebrating Sinatra, ABBA, Beyoncé, Amy Winehouse, and more. Tickets are required and available at Aire Rooftop Bar - Chicago Loop's website. 

This year Aire introduces The Sunset Club presented by Neon Paddle. On the first Saturday of every month guests can experience a sense of being transported to a tropical paradise with a live DJ and signature drinks at sunset. DJ's include Aced Spade, DJ Miriam, Adonia, Freddy Phatz, Kid Clay, and MDok. Tickets start at $10.

While up in the Aire, guests can clock out early with the new daily specials menu:

  1. Martini-est Monday Ever: Mondays call for martinis, grab a friend and sip into week with two martinis for $20
  2. Let’s Taco ‘Bout It Tuesday: Celebrate every Tuesday with three tacos for $12
  3. Wine Down Wednesdays: Whine less, wine more with $11 glasses and $44 bottles of wine

Daily specials run from 3pm to 5pm.

The menu this season features new options including Korean BBQ Tacos and a newly crafted drink from Dovetail Brewery. This new collaboration, the Summer Hopfenlager, is specially brewed for the Aire rooftop. Aire also offers a variety of RTDs, local drafts, and curated wine selections.

Aire is open 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with happy hour available from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. on weekdays. For more information on reservations, live entertainment or to book a private event with  Aire, visit their website.

Adalina Prime

Adalina Prime is gearing up for alfresco season with multiple spaces to eat, sip, and gather. For those looking to kick-start the warm-weather vibe, the restaurant’s indoor-outdoor atrium offers a setting for happy hour, available Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Bites include Chef Soo Ahn’s Steak Sliders with maître d’ butter, oysters by the piece, and a Wagyu Grilled Cheese with caramelized onions. All paired with craft cocktails, from espresso martinis to pomegranate hibiscus spritzes. On the horizon, the front patio is set for a makeover, debuting closer to Memorial Day weekend with lounge seating and layered greenery.

Bar Avec

Bar avec will open for the season on Thursday, April 23. The rooftop space sits eight floors above the second location of One Off Hospitality’s avec in River North. To kick off the season, the team will host a pizza & spritz party! on Sunday, April 27 from 5 to 9 p.m. Executive Chef Dylan Patel will serve wood-fired pizzas alongside Aperol spritzes, with sunset views and lawn games. Tickets start at $63 and can be purchased through Tock.

Tengoku Aburiya

Opening in tandem with steady warm weather in the city, this West Loop izakaya is serving up traditional gastropub fare, from charred chicken and beef skewers to sushi rolls made with fish sourced straight from Japan. Plus, launching for year two on Saturday, May 2, TenGoku is bringing back its $55 per person all-you-can-eat sushi brunch, served Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Grab a plate (or two) of rotating delicate nigiri, spicy tuna rolls, kushiyaki skewers, and more.

Big Star

At the Wrigleyville location, directly across from Wrigley Field, the team is offering pre- and postgame packages starting at $30 per person, featuring chips, salsa, tacos and sides. Game day specials include al pastor-glazed wings and $12 nachos. For those skipping the game, the original Wicker Park patio delivers the classic Big Star experience with sun-soaked seating and a steady flow of tequila in the heart of the neighborhood. Sapori Trattoria

Sapori invites guests to dine al fresco with sidewalk tables opening the weekend of April 18, followed by an expanded outdoor setup closer to May, when W. Schubert Street is expected to close to allow for even more seating. Enjoy Sapori’s menu classics, starting with appetizers like whipped ricotta toast and charred octopus, before moving on to entrées like their signature bolognese.

Publican Quality Bread

Patio season is underway at both Publican Quality Bread locations with outdoor seating now open in West Town and Oak Park. At the West Town location, the team is hosting Pizza Nights on Grand, launching May 22 and continuing Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. throughout the spring and summer. The patio series will feature pizzas ($18-$20 per pie) topped with porchetta, giardiniera, mortadella and fava salsa verde, alongside seasonal sides like summer vegetables and pasta and bean salads. For dessert, look for maritozzi filled with summer flavors such as strawberry with black pepper and lemon with cucumber and vanilla.

The Graceful Ordinary

The Graceful Ordinary is welcoming another season of outdoor dining with the reopening of its Riverside Terrace this Memorial Day weekend. Set along the Fox River, the restaurant’s fully screened-in dining area offers a breezy setting for craft cocktails and chef-driven dishes. Crafted by Chef Chris Curren, the ever-changing menu at The Graceful Ordinary features locally sourced ingredients and highlights elevated tavern fare centered around the kitchen’s wood-burning hearth. Plus, Monday - Friday from 4 pm - 5 pm, catch their Oyster and Martini Happy Hour for $2-a-shuck oysters and $10 martinis.

LAUREL

Tucked just outside The Talbott, LAUREL’s patio features a full menu, Happy Hour, and a dedicated dog-friendly offering. Come patio season, the tableside margarita makes its return, paired with LAUREL’s bottomless menu.

Dēliz Italian Steakhouse

Dēliz Italian Steakhouse’s second-floor terrace offers a rooftop-style dining experience with seating for up to 105 guests, plus 12 bar seats. Guests can request terrace seating when booking, though placement is first come, first served. The open-air setting is accented by landscaping, with DJs and fire pits.

Cruz Blanca

Cruz Blanca features a 25-seat sidewalk patio plus up to 100 seats on the Randolph Street extended patio. Seating is first come, first served, with priority for reservations. 

Leña Brava

Leña Brava offers a 50-seat sidewalk patio at Randolph and Peoria. The street-side setting pairs with a wood-fired menu of Baja-inspired seafood, seasonal plates, and agave-driven cocktails. Seating is first come, first served, with priority for reservations. 

Manchamanteles

Manchamanteles can be booked for summer gatherings of 120 - 150 guests, offering a setting for any celebration. The spacious patio allows for the sharing of festive meals, handcrafted cocktails under the sun. Seating is first come, first served, with priority for reservations.

Maple & Ash

Guests can enjoy wood‑fired steaks, fire‑roasted seafood, and cocktails with both indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations are recommended to grab a table.

Mariela

Opening May 6 in Chicago’s Reliance Building, Mariela tells a story of oceans and origins, anchored by nostalgia and coastal bounty. Created by chefs Rishi Kumar and Zubair Mohajir, with a beverage program spearheaded by David Mor, the new dining experience will feature a 20-person patio, and will highlight recipes from the shores of Southeast Asia to the coasts of the Americas and Europe.

Sanders

Sanders BBQ Supply delivers a laid‑back, authentic barbecue experience rooted in real wood‑smoked flavor, where guests can enjoy slow‑smoked meats, hearty sides, and house‑made sauces. A South Side spot known for its barbecue where guests can dine in, grab takeout, or catering an event.

Solana

Soak up the sun at Solana, Wicker Park’s only public rooftop pool bar opening early May 2026. Think frozen tropical cocktails, street-style tacos, and poolside lounging with skyline views. Perched on the 6th floor of The Robey.

Shore Club

  • Patio Lounge Experience - New for the season, Shore Club has introduced front-row Patio Lounges along the lakefront, offering views of Lake Michigan. Guests can reserve the Patio Lounge Experience for groups of 2 - 5 people for $195 per party, which includes a mezze platter and a 1.5L magnum of Whispering Angel Rosé.
  • The Oasis Experience - The Oasis area returns this season with new upgrades including additional shade netting, a private bar, and games like cornhole and giant Connect Four for guests to enjoy. The space also offers in-and-out access to the beach.
  • Semi-Private Beer Garden - The new semi-private Beer Garden features a covered pergola space, private bar access, and lakefront views.

The Up Room

Rooftop cocktails meet sweeping skyline views at The Up Room, perched atop Wicker Park’s tallest building. Located on the 13th floor of The Robey, guests can sip elevated craft cocktails while enjoying a Chicago rooftop experience. With both indoor and outdoor seating, The Up Room is open 5pm to 12am (Sun-Thu), 5pm to 1am (Fri-Sat), 21+.

Pandan at Viceroy Chicago

Located on the 18th floor of Viceroy Chicago, this rooftop bar offers sweeping views of Lake Michigan, the Magnificent Mile, and the historic mansions of the Gold Coast. Pandan pairs Southeast Asian inspired drinks such as a Yuzu Spritz and pandan-infused tequila cocktails—with small plates like pork lumpia, lobster dumplings, and spicy tuna crispy rice, all set against a panoramic skyline backdrop. Unlike most other poolside bars at Chicago hotels, Pandan is open to the public. Opened in June 2024, the 65-seat space blends Art Deco with tropical design elements, creating a lounge-style atmosphere. Reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are welcome.

The Rooftop at Nobu Hotel Chicago

Perched above Chicago’s Restaurant Row, The Rooftop at Nobu Hotel Chicago, the only Nobu in the Midwest, is a seasonal 11th-floor lounge offering skyline views alongside Nobu’s signature Japanese-Peruvian cuisine. The menu features bites like yellowtail jalapeño, rock shrimp tempura, wagyu tacos, and sushi, paired with elevated cocktails such as the Japanese Old Fashioned and lychee martini, plus a curated sake selection. Guests can also take advantage of “Tanoshi Hour,” featuring discounted favorites like the Matsuhisa Martini, Market Margarita, crispy rice, and wagyu sliders.

Cesar’s Killer Margaritas

Kick things off at Cesar’s Killer Margaritas, in Lake View, whose patio is now officially open. This family-owned restaurant serves 30+ margarita flavors alongside fresh-to-order Mexican classics. Grab a spot on their sidewalk patio and dig into the Queso Birria - three melted Mexican cheese blend quesadillas filled with beef stew meat, garnished with cilantro, lime, and onion, and served with consomé. 

Amerikas 

Amerikas in Oak Park delivers Latin American flavors with a global twist. Try the Barbacoa - lamb shank braised with guajillo and ancho chiles, avocado leaves, and mushroom risotto topped with pistachios. Enjoy on their sun-soaked patio, while sipping a mezcal cocktail. 

Folklore 

This Argentine steakhouse takes meat seriously, grilling each cut to perfection. Dive into the El Che experience - a grilled flank steak, presented on a tabletop grill, accompanied by red chimichurri and a medley of roasted red peppers, asparagus, and shiitake mushrooms. Add a glass of Malbec, and settle into their modern patio.

Bodega Sur 

Bodega Sur, in Lake View, is part wine boutique, part café, part bistro, with a plant-filled patio on Southport. Indulge in the Carpaccio, where slices of prime beef tenderloin meet flavors of stone-ground mustard chimichurri, Spanish capers, and an arugula-fennel salad tossed in lemon and garlic - to pair with a glass of wine.

Dell' Rooster 

Their Valencia-Style Seafood Paella is a golden, saffron-scented medley of shrimp, mussels, clams, tender chicken, tomato sofrito, bell peppers, and tender bomba rice. Grab the El Rico Suave margarita, sink into the glow of twinkling patio lights.

Tune-Up 

Tune-Up is the newest al fresco option in the Avondale neighborhood. Located at the intersection of Belmont and N Milwaukee Ave, Tune-Up has transformed a former auto shop, Tepco Tune-Up, into a neighborhood bar with retro charm, a modern edge, and an outdoor patio. Outside, a 1,200-square-foot patio extends the energy with an outdoor counter and pickup window designed for seamless patio service and potential future food pop-ups.

Tune-Up features a lineup of 11 signature cocktails, rotating seasonally, alongside a curated selection of local and international beers. Crafted by the Tune-Up team, the cocktail menu leans into nostalgia with mechanic-inspired creations. Highlights include the The Lift with Fords gin, Chinola mango liqueur, Supasawa, simple syrup, Scarborough bitters, the Brakefluid with Hardhide Ponchatoula strawberry whiskey, Aperol, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, and the Anti-Freeze with Beefeater gin, Green Chartreuse, lime juice, cucumber syrup.

Central Park Bar

Tucked away in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood, Central Park Bar invites guests to escape the ordinary with its sprawling 3,500-square-foot “backyard bar,” an outdoor retreat that opens early at 12 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. At the heart of it all is a covered, weather-proofed bar built for year-round comfort, complete with overhead heaters, three 55-inch TVs, and a bumper pool table. Beyond the covered bar, stone landscaping enhances the backyard feel. Picnic tables sit shaded beneath mulberry trees, while hammered copper tiki-style gas torches line the space for an evening glow. Cody’s Public House

For Chicagoans searching for an outdoor hangout this spring and summer, Cody’s Public House in West Lakeview delivers with a spacious, dog-friendly beer garden designed for gathering. With room for up to 100 guests, the outdoor space is a destination for sunny afternoons, casual celebrations, and game-day meetups with friends. At the center of the beer garden is an outdoor bar housed inside a converted Airstream trailer, adding a retro touch to the open-air setting. Surrounded by high-top tables, TVs for catching the action and darts. Weather permitting, guests can also cozy up around Cody’s year-round fire pit on cooler Chicago evenings.

Easy Bar

Spring has arrived, and Easy Bar is welcoming the return of patio season with its dog-friendly sidewalk setup in the heart of Wicker Park. Situated at the corner of Division and Damen, the outdoor space seats 15 to 20 guests. Guests can take advantage of the bar’s daily Half-Price Happy Hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for after-work drinks, casual meetups, and post-brunch hangs.

The Getaway

The Getaway features a sidewalk patio in the heart of Lincoln Square along bustling North Lincoln Avenue. Opening May 1 (weather permitting), the outdoor space seats approximately 20 guests, offering a neighborhood setting perfect for spring and summer sipping. Guests can enjoy The Getaway’s new half-price Happy Hour al fresco, available Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Graystone Tavern

Rain or shine, The Graystone Tavern in Wrigleyville has sports fans covered. Their expansive, enclosed beer garden is open year-round, offering a spot to sip, dine, and catch the game al fresco. The outdoor beer garden features a retractable roof and the space can seat up to 100 people. Guests are invited to relax with a cold beverage and enjoy the fresh air while they dine and watch the latest sports match alfresco with a focus on soccer, Cubs, golf and football. The patio features string lights overhead, fifteen TVs, and games like Golden Tee. 

The Grillroom Chophouse & Wine Bar

Nestled in the heart of the Chicago Loop and Theater District, the patio at The Grillroom Chophouse & Wine Bar is a destination for elevated outdoor dining and ideal for a power lunch, post-theater bites or after-work happy hour. With seating for up to 50 guests, this flower-adorned retreat on Monroe St. offers a front-row seat to the city. Guests will enjoy a daily happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with $10 select wines, $10 House Margaritas, $12 Barrel-aged Old Fashioned, $12 Half Dozen East Coast Oysters, $12 Meatball appetizer, $12 Tuscan Toast and $16 Filet Sliders.

Maxwells Trading

Maxwells Trading's patio is set to open May 12 (weather permitting). Reservations for the patio are released daily at 10 AM CST and they’ll also be holding space for walk-ins.

Torali Rooftop

Overlooking downtown Chicago and the Magnificent Mile from the 12th floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, Torali Rooftop offers a casual lounge setting for handcrafted cocktails, Italian-inspired bites and shared plates paired with city and lake views. The rooftop connects to the hotel’s greenhouse-inspired Café, offering specialty coffee from Starbucks, fresh-squeezed juices, desserts and freshly prepared pastries by Executive Pastry Chef Toni Roberts and her team. During select weekends in May, guests and locals can reserve Spring Afternoon Tea and enjoy an array of sweet and savory confections by Chef Roberts, high-end tea and bubbly. Torali Rooftop is slated to open Memorial Day weekend, weather pending!

Carmine's Chicago

The outdoor space features approximately 125 seats across roughly 1,200 square feet. The kitchen will serve guests until midnight, while the bar will remain open later into the evening. The terrace builds on Carmine’s recent return to the Gold Coast, where it reopened earlier this year with a reimagined space, expanded layout and its signature Italian-American menu from the Rosebud Restaurant Group. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Labriola Italian Specialties

The restaurant features an outdoor patio with seating for approximately 44 guests right along Fulton Market near Peoria Street. The patio includes umbrellas for shade and welcomes dogs alongside their owners. Patio seating is available on a first come, first served basis and immediate patio seating cannot be guaranteed upon arrival. Designed as an all-day and late-night destination, the concept blends authentic Italian flavors with a modern Chicago twist, offering everything from handcrafted cocktails and Italian specialties to late-night artisan pizza slices, Sicilian cannoli and spumoni from a walk-up window. The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. - 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. with lunch hours coming soon. 

I|O Godfrey

I|O Godfrey Roofscape bar and lounge, located on the 4th floor of The Godfrey Hotel is Chicago’s only year-round and features a retractable roof, offering an indoor bar and outdoor lounge complete with fire pits and skyline views. Guests are invited to enjoy lunch and dinner daily, Happy Hour from Tuesday to Thursday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., weekend brunch, and various events throughout the year. The rooftop encompasses approximately 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, with 10,000 square feet meeting and event space for receptions for 750. 

LondonHouse Chicago 

The 21st floor rooftop offers both indoor, LH On 21, and outdoor, LH Rooftop dining options, serving re-imagined American cuisine and cocktails. The venue also provides various options for social events, including outdoor terrace patios and private indoor dining spaces. The LH Rooftop is open daily, 11 a.m. - midnight with kitchen & bar service from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. The menu includes Chef Features, American Tapas, Starters, Salads, Entrees, Desserts as well as a selection of cocktails, spirit-free mocktails, beer, wine and champagne. 

Fioretta

Located on the 13th floor, The Penthouse at Fioretta provides custom reception-style menus. The venue features floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the Chicago skyline, and accordion-style doors that open to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces. Fioretta is open Monday - Thursday, 3:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., Friday 
3:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m., Saturday, 5:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m., and Sunday, 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. 

Bandit

Bandit, located in the West Loop - Fulton Market neighborhood of Chicago offers 80 outdoor spots between sidewalk seating in front of the restaurant. The back patio is fully enclosed and heated during winter months. This space features a bar for streamlined beverage service and several high top tables with barstools to offer seating. This chef-driven restaurant offers a diverse menu including all-day dining, weekend brunch, happy hour, and kids' options, along with a wide selection of drinks such as cocktails, beer, seltzers, shots, and more. Bandit is open Monday-Wednesday, 4 p.m. - 12 a.m., Thursday, 4 p.m. - 2 a.m., Friday, 11:30 a..m. - 2 a.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 a.m. Sunday, 10 a..m. - 12 a.m. 

Lyra

Rooted in the Greek ethos of wellness, Lyra brings fresh, holistic fare to Chicago diners in an earth-toned, indoor-meets-outdoor space. Lyra is open daily, Monday - Thursday,  5 p.m. - 12 a.m., Friday & Saturday,  5 p.m. - 1 a.m., Sunday,  5 p.m. - 12 a.m. 

Labriola Chicago

Labriola Chicago features a spacious outdoor patio with seating for approximately 80 guests. The patio includes heaters, a partial awning and umbrellas for added comfort throughout the season and welcomes dogs alongside their owners. Patio seating is available on a first come, first served basis and immediate patio seating cannot be guaranteed upon arrival. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is known for its housemade breads, oversized slices, Italian-American favorites and bustling atmosphere. Labriola Chicago is open Sunday - Thursday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. 

Labriola Oak Brook

Labriola Oak Brook features a spacious patio with seating for approximately 130 guests, creating a setting for lunch, dinner, happy hour and weekend gatherings. The patio features a flexible indoor-outdoor design with retractable enclosure walls that open for the warmer months, along with heaters and a shaded roof for added comfort throughout the season. Old Town Pour House Oak Brook

Old Town Pour House Oak Brook, is a bar and restaurant with a modern American menu offering chef-driven twists. It boasts 90 beers on tap, including over 30 dedicated to local breweries, and features a spacious outdoor patio with two fireplaces. The restaurant is open daily, Monday - Thursday, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Friday, 11 a.m. - 1 a.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. - 1 a.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. Guests can enjoy Happy Hour every weekday, 4 - 6 p.m. and weekend brunch every Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

Old Town Pour House Naperville

Old Town Pour House Naperville offers a dining and drinking experience with its modern American menu and chef-inspired creations. This bar and restaurant showcases a selection of 90 beers on tap, with more than 30 options from local breweries. Guests can also enjoy the spacious outdoor patio, complete with a fireplace. Taverna Violí

Beginning Monday, May 11, the Nikkei-inspired lounge will be open seven days a week, introducing new weekday hours while maintaining its late-night weekend programming. The updated schedule includes Sunday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., with Fridays and Saturdays continuing from 2 p.m. to midnight. 

Now fully in season, Casa Chi’s patio brings an open-air extension to its atmosphere, for everything from happy hour to nightcaps. The restaurant’s daily programming includes weekday happy hour from 4–7 p.m., a late-night “Night Cap” experience Monday through Thursday, and its Boozy Tea, a three-course, shared cocktail-forward tea service featuring signature teapots and live entertainment.
