It's National BBQ Month and Famous Dave's is celebrating!

The Chicagoland Famous Dave's restaurants today announced their partnership with the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation as they join forces to provide opportunities and resources to chronically ill children and their families. Funds will be raised at a series of "Porking Lot" parties at 7 participating Famous Dave's locations.

The first Porking Lot Party takes place at Famous Dave's Orland Park (15667 Harlem Avenue) on Saturday, May, 21, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. The event will feature a live entertainment, complimentary "Whole Hog" sandwiches (while supplies last), sweet tea, lemonade, $1.00 draft pints and plenty of "buck a bone" ribs to benefit the foundation. In addition, there will be a raffle for an Peanut Tillman autographed football. Area police and fire departments will transport the restaurant's mascot Wilbur by fire truck to the events. The trucks will roll in at around 12:15pm.

"My company has been part of the Famous Dave's tradition for over thirteen years. We have recently expanded into the Chicago area," says Elliott Baum, owner of the seven Chicago area Famous Dave's franchises. "Our series of Porking Lot parties are a place for area residents to share food and drink, meet our team and raise money with former Bear great 'Peanut' Tillman for his charitable foundation."

Baum spent much of his youth in Chicago, and is thrilled to be doing business in the area. The Porking Lot pig roast parties will celebrate the return of traditional menu favorites, and will also benefit the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation, the official charity of 2015 Walter Payton "Man of the Year" recipient Charles "Peanut" Tillman. w

Attend the event, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Famous Dave's Orland Park, 15667 Harlem Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60462.
