Periodic Table Dinner at The Promontory 

The Periodic Table just turned 150 years old and The Promontory is celebrating. On October 10th from 5-11 p.m Hyde Park’s hearth-centric restaurant and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry will come together to host a three-course meal based on the elements of the chemistry table. 

Crafted by Executive Chef Carlos Cruz, the menu features scientifically-inspired dishes such as ash bread, house-cured ham with roasted green beans and house pickles, smoked BBQ cauliflower with cornbread crisps, grapes and pickled watermelon rind, steamed Napa cabbage with shrimp and scallop mousse, milk custard with Dip’nDots and hearth roasted figs and more. Tickets available here for $50.

Blocktober Fest at Thalia Hall

On October 13th from 12-10 p.m., Thalia Hall and Dusek’s Board & Beer are bringing their free, family-friendly fall block party back to Pilsen with the 5th Annual Blocktoberfest. Located on 18th street outside of the historic Thalia Hall, the FREE-to-enter fall bash will feature a variety of Ballast Point craft beers for purchase, as well as specialty punch from Punch House and German-inspired fare by Chef Michael Galen of Dusek’s. 

The event will include a fun zone for kids set up in Tack Room featuring face painting, coloring and games, while a stellar line-up of DJs like Derrick Carter, Ed 9, La Spacer, General Principle, Jeremiah Meece, Dana, and Lovebug provide an upbeat soundtrack of tunes at the all-day fest. Bring the whole fam to Pilsen for the day, Blocktoberfest is a fall-tastic opportunity to enjoy the neighborhood’s vibes. 

Perez Pumpkin Patch and Halloween Drag Brunch at Tack Room

Get into the Halloween spirit while giving back to the community during Tack Room’s annual pumpkin patch fundraiser benefitting Pilsen’s Perez Elementary School on October 12th from 12-4 p.m. Tack Room will offer pumpkins in various shapes and sizes for sale from $5-$20 with all proceeds directly benefiting the local school. Guests will have the chance to create a piece of fall decor to take home with paints provided by VIP Paints while munching on apple cider doughnuts by Pastry Chef TC Lumbar. 

On October 26th at 12:30 p.m., Tack Room puts a spooky spin on its drag brunch featuring the musical stylings of piano maestro Kevan Eftekhari and Chicago drag queen, Wanda Screw. Brunch offerings from the Michelin-starred menu of Dusek’s Board & Beer will be available to enjoy during the interactive performance and sing-along. 

Dogtoberfest at Saint Lou's Assembly 

Grab your four-legged friend and head over to the patio of Saint Lou’s Assembly on October 5th from 3-6 p.m. for a canine-friendly fall celebration at the third annual Dogtoberfest. Pups can pose for pics in a doggie photo booth then strut their stuff and show their skills in costume and trick contests. A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to local rescue organization Chicago Canine Rescue (the charity that MONEYGUN Charity Club will support throughout October). Please note that this event is subject to cancellation if inclement weather occurs.
