The Vaudeville-inspired Venue Opens its Doors to the Public

Enter the era of glamour and intrigue at the intimate nightlife theater that brings the rich essence of the past decades to life through music and live performances. Smokey Hollow (343 W. Erie Street) has now opened the doors to the public, introducing a new wave of nightlife entertainment. Complete with marquee lights, exposed brick walls, rich red velvet curtains, and a small stage featuring nightly performances, Smokey Hollow pays homage to Chicago's rich history and a decade filled with revelry. Smokey Hollow breaks the mold of River North's club scene, blurring the lines between club, bar, and live entertainment venue to create a nightlife theater with a vaudeville twist. Smokey Hollow will be open 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturdays.

Chicago's newest nightlife venue opened on Thursday, October 29th. "As the nightlife scene evolves in Chicago, guests are looking for something different," said Robbie Schloss of Entertainment Machine, Smokey Hollow's management company. "Our exclusive environment will provide guests with a nightlife experience unlike any other." Business partner, Ben Foreman, has worked in nightlife venues such as Paris Club and American Junkie and saw a missing piece of the nightlife scene before he began working on the concept with Schloss. "Smokey Hollow is the first of it's kind in Chicago," said Foreman. "Nightlife theater brings an added element to the evening and we have seen this success in cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas."

Entertainment has become an integral part of the nightlife scene, and Smokey Hollow delivers a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience every night that will never be duplicated with acts including but not limited to: magicians, contortionists, impersonators and more. Smokey Hollow features a unique art installation by artist Jason Brammer. The steampunk-inspired piece captures the essence of River North's urban industrial history while celebrating the evolution of entertainment over the last century.
